Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi @Former-Member or should should we now call you Spookytookims?

It is definitely strange cr@p happening. (can't use emoticons as am on a laptop and not my phone/ipad). It was so weird and it appeared you dealt with it so calmly. I definitely would have freaked out. Maybe you have some form of 3rd eye or 6th sense - whatever they call it? It is good you are not freaked out about it and seem so calm.

For me my weird cr@p comes in dreams. The randomnest dreams out of the blue. I have dreamt a few events that have happened in my life/reality (about 3 over the past year) and a couple that have happened roughly around the time the event was happening in reality. It scares me as 2 out of those 3 were not good ones. Had a few dreams regarding my partner for some odd reason. From: 1) Partner proposing (when we first started dating); 2) My late dad appearing in my dream telling me not to worry about mum and just tell her; 3) A wedding rehearsal to which he didn't turn up but Mum said just start without him (this was roughly late last year when he first admitted to depression); to 4) Us actually being newlyweds. I say these dreams about my partner is weird cause I am not even in the marriage thought space however for all I know it could be a subconscious. Don't understand how our brain works or mine for that matter.

I am still so impressed by your babooshka dolls (did I spell that right?) They are just so amazing. I never owed any form of Russian dolls....not really sure why.

Awww, it sounds eerie @Former-Member. I dont know how I would react to that, if it happened to me.

Spoooky............ And nothing really to be said, as there is no logical explanation for any of it.

Love your Babushka dolls too.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

lol ya @Former-Member that is the perfect pic for it 😛 you got that right.... Sarah Perkins did a great job to get Adelaide girls into the GF by the way Fantastic last 10 mins on that game. Aus smished the Indians first innings... Kohli kaplooched again (dang it)! out for 6! Can't see them losing this one unless it starts raining I guess. See they should have declared to make it interesting.... just sayin' 😛

@Anony18 yeah I hear you. I think I'm calm with this stuff now because I've had so much of it throughout my life, but not since I succumbed to PTSD, so I am thinking it means I'm very much in the "coming out of it" stage of the trauma. As I said, mainstream psychiatrists would argue that but I'd argue it back at them, so that wouldn't be a problem.

I think, off the top of my head, the two strongest pre-cognition events I've had were 1. I actually watched the space shuttle blow up, as a news item on the TV, a day before it happened. When I went into work and said "wow wasn't it bad how the space shuttle bluew up" everyone looked at me and was like "ummm no it didn't blow up, it gets launched tomorrow". I was like huh? wtf?? I saw it on the news last night!

The following day nobody would come near me.. they were going ok you're just weird how the heck did you know that? I was like.. well I saw it! And when I watched the "real" version it was identical to what I had seen, it was just like a rerun of the tape I'd watched.

2. The September 11, 2001 events. I saw the buildings falling, the people running, the clouds of dust, people covered in dust and running from this huge cloud behind them. This one was in dream form though and it came with "knowings" or "insights" whatever you want to call them. I woke up shaking. I told a few of my close friends something was going to happen, I didn't know where, I knew it was soon and I knew it would be a defining moment for all of us. But it "had to happen" which was what I was really strongly "told" in my dream. It was a week later or 6 days that it happened. When I saw the people running from the dust clouds, down the streets with the dust cloud "chasing" them from behind.. that was exactly the images I had "seen".

Anyhow.... after it did happen I had a number of calls from the friends I'd told and they were like "what do we do now"? I said .. you do nothing, but just know this is a very big "sliding door" moment in our lifetimes. This is a momentus fork in the road moment. To this day, because of what was conveyed to me in that dream, I see that day very differently than most do.

Anyhow.. that's just whatever really, but it probably is why my experience last night was just a kind of "ok this is weird .. what the heck is going on now?" moment, rather than a freak out thiing for me. I do think it is great that it has started again, after nothing like it happening for about 15 years though.

Yeah I know.. I'm Spooky 😛 My partner calls me a witch. lol

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi @Former-Member.

It's clairvoyance .... if you're looking for the name associated with these sorts of experiences.

While they are not the sort of experience I have had, I am strongly empathetic in nature, and I "absorb" the feelings of those around me ..... don't know if it's a form of mind-reading ..... probably a reading of facial expression coupled with other body language, but I have to be careful about responding to people's unspoken thoughts ..... lol ..... can be a bit embarrassing if I forget, and say something inappropriate to what they have chosen to share because I am reaching beyond it into their privacy, but I probably learned about that hazard as a child, and I will quickly avert my gaze from them if I think I am picking up more than they want to reveal .....

Flip side is that you can often provide comfort and / or understanding before people realise they need it .... and gift them a special moment through that insight .....

Hope that makes sense.

The fact that you remained calm when faced with an illogical situation shows that you felt okay with it. I have only had one experience where I turned up somewhere and my blood froze ..... I asked my husband to get us out of there ..... spooked out of my wits with no plausible explanation as to why. It still makes me wonder ....

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Wow, @Former-Member, you really do have the gift of 'second sight', or psychic ability. I would say "lucky you", but I am not so sure about that. It is a huge responsibility I would imagine, and it would not sit easily with me I feel.

Sounds like you also have the 'gift' as well @Faith-and-Hope. My grandmother had it too, as does to a far lesser, extent my mother. None of it came my way though, for which I think I am thankful.

I hope everyone's day has been at the very least, okay.

Kind thoughts to you all, and wishing you all a good night.

Sherry

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

yes @Faith-and-Hope it is a type of natural "samadhi" I was writing a thesis on how mine works and how I think the process works when I was hit by my PTSD. I am yet to get back to it. My name for it is "Perspection" and I believe it is a sense we are yet to explore and I also believe quantum physics and neuroscience will lead us ignorant westerners to it and it will confirm the knowledge that many Ancient belief systems have known for thousands of years.

I understand, no I can empathise, with your empathy experiences. I too have those. I "know" things about people I have no reason to know I just know them. Early on in my relationship with my partner he would turn to be with this screwed up grimace on his face and go "and how in the heck would you know that".. and it would always turn out right and I would poke my tongue out at him or just some other "told you so" facial gesture.. and he would roll his eyes.. Now he expects it and just goes along with what I say in those situations knowing that somewhere along the line there will be a confirmation of what I have said.

So a little different to yours, but none the less the general concept is there.

Places.... ok... I have one for that too... well one that sticks out in my mind. Have you ever been to Istanbul? It is HUGE! I came into Istanbul on a train from Sophia (Bulgaria). I had picked out a hostel to stay at. I had no idea where I was in relation to that hostel. I was with the boyfriend I had in my 20s. NOw... you need to know one thing here.. that I have the directional sense of a dizzy goldfish. Useless is the word that comes to mind. I literally cannot tell my left from my right so never ask me to be a navigator in a car rally And he was well aware of this.

Anyhow... as we jumped walked out of the trains station this feeling flooded over me and I said to him "Hey I know where to go". He looked at me like I was some kind of alien (with good reason) and I just said, no really I know where to go.

I think he humoured me, because he actually said ok where? I said it's this way. We went out of the station (no map at all) up with quite steep hill, as we neared the top there was a small road that looped around the left side, I said, down here. We turned down the loopy lane, walked for a further maybe 3 minutes and lo and behold there was a big yellow sign with the name of the hostel we had picked out of the lonely planet.

Now there are 1000s of hostels in Istanbul, and this one was near the Blue Mosque and Aya Sophya (Red Mosque) so let's just say wall to wall hostels everywhere because it's also near Topkapi (palace/museum) so how the heck I knew where to go I have no idea... but I knew I did, and voila... I lead us straight to it.

Getting the heck out.. yes I know that feeling too. But that was a lot closer to home and I felt something so strongly I actually screamed "we have to get out of here... NOW! and to this day I have no idea why, and quite honestly I don't want to know.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Yeah @Former-Member... at first I got a bit freaked out by it. Especially when I was 16 and something really bad happened and taught me a lesson. I didn't want to acknowledge it for a long time after that. Then I came to a realisation and more of an acceptance. Then it was like.. oh well yeah stuff happens to me and yada yada.

But in my 30s something so huge happened I could no longer deny it and I had to go looking for answers. That's when my delving into the how of it started.

Then my PTSD hit and it went away, I had no connection with it at all, well I had no connection with pretty much anything so of course wasn't going to be connected to that. 😛

As I said, this incident last night is the first major one of any kind for a very long time. I would really like to know what the lights and grey streaks were in my yard though. I have no idea what that was, no idea at all what it could have been. That probably freaked me out the most which is why I went back inside.

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Sends shivers down my spine.

Weirding ways have found their entry into quantum physics @Former-Member you probably know all about that. All is reduced to UPS and DOWNS ... ah thank god it is simple!

A lady told me I was psychic but that I had to believe I was .. I shoot myself in the foot less these days .. I think that should help on my path .. do you think?
