Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

Hi All

There is a thread operating on the Lived Experience Forum under Night Shift where members who are having trouble sleeping for any reason give a bit of a shout-out, to see if there is anyone else sleepless and looking for company. It's been such a great thing, I thought I would start one over here too.

I have had the odd few nights where I have woken up on and off, and my kids have been having a bit of trouble some nights too, depending on what has happened during the day.

Being a carer can be lonely too, so if you are making an after-midnight cup of something hot, and wonder who else might be doing that too, maybe have a look-in here and see if anyone else is about.

Yes @Former-Member, that sounds good to me. And yeah, I did see some of the AFLW match that Freo won. Their first win too I think it was. So, good on them. Hey @Appleblossom - I'm impressed! Ha ha, well done.

@Former-Member yep, they had that draw with GWS but that was thier first outright win. Oh Mr Betts just missed a goal 😞 . I like Mr Betts. Who do you support again? I forgot - PTSD attention span = cr@pola I swear! :face_with_rolling_eyes:

Re: Hot Chocolate Anyone ?

@Former-Member - Yes I'd forgotten about the draw, I actually saw the end of that match. Yeah you got it - concentration and attention span is totally shot! I follow the Sydney Swans, who play tomorrow. And unfortunately the Swans dont have an AFLW team. Yet. Hopefully they will in future. So since I dont have my real team in, I kind of like Adelaide, because I like the big girl who plays for them. Cant remember the name, of course. She's really good. She has lost heaps of weight, is a real goer and a great kick for goal. Wonderful inspiration for young girls I reckon.

@Former-Member I think that is Sarah Perkins... or someone Perkins... yes I like her too. Do you know that story about her? Quite a great story I reckon. 🏉 They play next and really hoping they win because of the loss last week.

Hi @Shaz51

I am so tired and could use the sleep but I have to work before catching up with some friends later. Agree sometimes we definitely need to be able to say NO. Only do what you believe you can and do not cross the limits. Has the family reunion events been going ok for both of you?

Hi everyone else! I hope your weekend has been going great.

Sorry been a bit MIA on the forums this week. It has been busy waking up, working then go play tennis/dance etc then after back to work til wee hours of morning and then back to work again. Then on Thursday morning got a surprise text from my partner to say because he has alot of stuff he is making a return overnight trip. So Friday & Saturday was spent with him. He seems happier of late now that he is holidaying. Helps that his mum and sister are dealing with extended family issues (which apparently has not been happy ones!). Telling him go on his holiday and when his holiday ends they will sit down and tell him all that has been happening. They know full well that if they told him what has been happening then he will get so mad, cut his holiday short and return home early which ruins his trip. Also helps his brother has been behaving well and not act up. So things are looking good for him and his mental health.

He opened up to me the Saturday early morning when we were busy watching movies on couch, having a few drinks. He was going to the loo a bit and shower quite a bit as well. I asked him if all was ok and he said cause his meds had finished the anxiety was back and today was the first day that he is back on the meds (earlier he went see psych and got the prescription) so he was real anxious and had a stress cigarette which later made him feel icky so he showered. It is a good thing that he was honest and seemed self aware and trying sort it out. He kept apologising to me but I told him don't be sorry and that understand and was hugging him so he feels a bit better. Hopefully helped a little.

The partner be back this weekend with the remaining luggage of his and back for my ball. He mentioned he is coming back just for me and my ball. Makes me feel loved but slightly guilty cause it is cutting his trip a bit short and I know how much of a break he needs at the moment.
