@Angels333 Try to force yourself to get the groceries and maybe get a treat for yourself - something positive to take your mind of SH temporarily at least. I bought some mini apple danishes yesterday when I was feeling really low (and ate them all
) I actually felt a little better for spoiling myself. Keep busy when you get home and mindfully do the things you need to do - that is concentrate fully on them so your mind does not wander to SH constantly. We used to have a running joke at DBT that doing the normal things like going to the toilet can be done mindfully - gutter humour I know but the idea is that everything we do, if we do in that moment, can help to focus our minds away from other things going on in our life even for brief moments.

Hey @Zoe7 I made it out of the store without buying a tool for SH. But my anxiety is skyrocketing. For some reason I don't want to share how I am feeling with Mr Angels I feel ashamed of my mental illness. Your present moment advice is good, I am also trying to be mindful of the pros and cons of SH.
How are you @Zoe7 ?

Hi @Angels333
I'm sorry you've had a hard day today.
It sounds like something changed for you between DBT and now. Do you have any idea what triggered this urge to self-harm @Angels333? What do you think it would mean for you if you self-harmed right now?
Perhaps picking up something to treat yourself as @Zoe7 said could be helpful?
If all else fails, please feel free to reach out to our SANE Help Centre for support on chat or phone (1800 18 72 63).
Please take care @Angels333.
Kindest Regards,
Amour_Et_Psyché

Thanks for your support this afternoon. I talked to Mr Angels and now he knows where I'm at. I didn't use SH but came very close. I feel safer now I have Mr Angels on my side. Yes it's humiliating reaching out and now I 'll have to tackle the underlying issues causing the anxiety.
But right now this evening I am feeling better. Thanks for being with me today
❤🧡💛💚💙💜

Making it out of the store without anything to SH with is great @Angels333 It is those little things that are really big for you that you can count as a major win. The pros and cons list is a good one too - I use to use that a lot - now it is easier to weigh those things up in my head. I know you don't want to share with Mr Angels but maybe doing that is a good idea. I suspect it is easier to keep it to yourself but in doing that you are self sabotaging and that often leads to SH - sharing with someone that supports you is hard but is one step away from doing what you have always done to tackle those emotions. Sharing with others takes practice Hon - because it makes us vulnerable and changes long standing patterns but you can do that ![]()

@MDT @Zoe7 @Former-Member @Jupiter @eth and others...
I managed to get through today without SH but it has been a hard day all the same. Tomorrow I have to accompany D3 to a Uni audition for music. I'm so tired and over this mental illness...
