@Shaz51 it's been raining here so much lately, my scotirish sister. I'm not a fan of summer heat and avoid going out in it. Hope there's some aircon where you are going.

tell her its cheaper to leave it on lol @Shaz51 I remember going to fathers house, was dark inside all blinds down cos he thought keeps heat out, 20 year old a/c was Not on. it was 28 deg inside. I turned around and walked out.

It might have been hotter without the blinds down. I get it, it is better in long run to keep temp lower than turn air con on and off repeatedly We did a lot of research into all that 30 years ago. I can not cope with refrigerated air con on my neck it would keep touching off, so I am happy with 15 - 25 inside. Happy with my evap cooler, thorough window coverings and shade trees,.

@Appleblossom hi, good to see you. With my neck deterioration over recent years, I have a new understanding of what you have gone through with it. The headaches are the worst thing. Seeing an acupuncturist next week, bulk billed and very experienced, even studied in China.

yes, no direct sun would help but was hotbox and no moving air even let alone cooling @Appleblossom he had blinds and shutters prob re did insulation in roof, just hated spending money on bills. Guess old people dont feel the heat from what I hear

@Shaz51 oh, that's a pity with the aircon. Could you talk to your Mum about it when you are getting too hot? Seems like it would be fair given how much care you are giving her. If she gets cold she could have a cardigan or a little throw blanket? Really hope you are able to have some more comfort in your life soon.
