Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

I'm sure there are many I've missed.

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

Welcome!!!

Hi @Owlunar sorry I missed your post. Travel safely . I need to sign out for a while. Thanks for popping in. There are a few others around at the moment so hopefully you'll find each other. Take care

Thanks @eth

I suddenly realised my battery is flat - I am charging it at the moment - it's amazing all the extras available at the airport even if it does look like something out of the last millenium here - actually - it is

And hi Peeps - it would be great to chat but I think I need to get back to where my flight will eventually leave - I have a bit of a charge in my computer but I think if I want a seat I had better go and grab one

See everyone when I get home in a few hours

@Owlunar Fly safe! We will be here cruising to smooth tunes and hugging hot water bottles when you land.

Also, a lagoon sounds lovely. Do you prefer a quiet holiday when you go away?

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hey folks wondering who's around tonight? Didn't mean to be offline for so long but had a lovely sunset with my brother, who then cooked turkey bolognese for all of us. Yum scrum!

@TheVorticon @Gazza75 @Adge @Ali11 and @Owlunar you might even be home by now.

Your holiday sounds peaceful and pretty Dec.

Perfect for a wintry night, especially when someone else cooks!

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

That does look tasty @eth

Yes it definitely tastes nicer when someone else cooks it.

I think it's because of feeling "cared for", or "looked after".

My appreciation really has little (or nothing) to do with how well it was prepared.

Just simply the fact that someone did it for me.

That's rare by the way - except if I was to go to a restaurant (which also rare).

No-one has cooked for me in about 9 years.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

@Adge it was the same for me for a lot of years too. I was totally isolated for over a decade at one stage. Took me a long time to rediscover any confidence cooking for anyone else but now I love it. At the moment I cook for bro, sil, me and sometimes sil's mum once a week. Still very lazy when it's just for me tho'. You often mention cooking things that sound totally yummy. I'd be happy to share a kitchen with you.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Thanks @eth Kitchen sharing sounds more personable, than only using the kitchen on my own (for myself).

A good point you made - since I only cook for myself, I now lack confidence to cook for others.

When 25 years ago, I was regularly cooking for 10 to 15 people (a community).

I've lived interstate (apart) from any relatives (on my own), for the past 25 years.

Only 10 of those 25 years was spent sharing a house, with a partner.
