Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Im not a good cook at all @NatureLover .. though I try. To be fair, there are some dishes I do very well. But everyday meal planning bores me.

The diamond painting .. No, hubby has not seen it yet. Doesnt take much interest in what I do. Its in a seperate room too. If I had told him I was doing it for him, Im sure he would have taken a peek. So I never said anything. It looks good though, Im happy with it.

@Former-Member that's the best feeling, when you're happy with it. That's good that it's going to be a surprise!

I find it very frustrating to be a food addict who can't cook. I imagine all the yummy dishes I could make, but when I try them, they don't work out. I finally accepted about a year ago that I don't have the gift, and I stopped trying. I live off things like toast, baked beans, soup, and very occasionally a very simple curry. I guess when you have a family to cook for you have to become proficient at some dishes, like you mentioned. I'm single (happily) so there's not the same pressure.

Had a nice sit and yarn in the sunshine with my support worker (at a distance) when she returned with my goodies. 1st contact other than bro, sil and her mum since march 18! Even if I (NDIS) was paying her it was just lovely to have a yack. She brought me some really nice wool from spotlight, some more printer ink, some treats and my smokes. And had the coil changed in my vape for me too. So I'm all stocked up for the next little while.

Spent some time finding whatever sticks and wood I could around the yard and have set a small fire in the firepit we have. Will probably go around 5 and light it just before sunset. So looking forward to it, it's been an age since I had one. Snaffling some red from my brother's stash and putting out cheese and crackers for me and sil's mum from next door who is coming to join me fireside.

@Former-Member sounds like some really thoughtful gifts for your hubby's birthday.
