Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

Welcome!!!

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

I haven't been up to much at all today. It's been a tough one. But a walk sounds good, but can't walk around my local neighbourhood I don't feel safe. With the restrictions at the moment I am to scared to drive to the bushwalking tracks I usually use as they are not in my suburb. @eth

Hi all @Maggie @Former-Member @Adge @MDT @NatureLover nice to see you all.

@Maggie I've never seen Babe I don't think. Maybe bits and pieces of it when my kid was little watching it at a mate's place.

@Adge nice change on the freeway. I just finished my driving lessons before the covid stuff started but still haven't driven on a freeway.

@MDT enjoy your walk.

I never walk anywhere alone @Former-Member so I get how you're feeling. Is there anyone nearby who you would trust to walk with you?

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Unfortunately no @eth , I have been isolated long before the virus.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Sorry to hear that @Former-Member I was completely isolated for over 11 years near Darwin before I moved here for family support. At least you have us here now. I used to walk laps inside my flat from the front door to the back over and over again. Better than nothing. There are lots of different exercises you can do without leaving the house - e.g. chair yoga - have a google or a look on youtube - just search indoor exercise. It is really good for our mental health if we can do even 10 minutes sometimes. I'm really missing the water tai chi I was going to twice a week with a support worker. Even here with my cabin in my bro and sil's back yard I never go out alone. NDIS really changed my life once I found some good support workers to go with.

Thanks for the tips @eth I am so pleased that NDIS has worked out for you.

@eth

I've got five more sleeps before I move out of my rental property. I'm packing and cleaning for 40 minutes then futzing about online for 20 minutes. One of the new people who has moved in, thought I was having a garage sale and asked me how much I wanted for some items I have under the carport. Everything is out there to be hauled away for rubbish.

Anyway, ended up with $10 I didn't expect to get. When I first posted in the 'introduce yourself' thread, someone said they would pray for the right people to enter my life to help me through this crisis....and guess what, it's working!

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Freeways are hard work @eth Make sure you're feeling really confident, before driving on a freeway.

Especially hard, when not familiar with the particular freeway.

Everything happens so fast - I've had careless drivers (suddenly changing lanes etc), almost bail me up many times.
