Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

Welcome!!!

@Scoo @eth Hi Scoo and welcome :). Being brought up in a big city I always have the doors locked when I am inside the house. My neighbour god bless her leaves them unlocked and sometimes open :o! I try and tell her it is different these days fom what it used to be live 30 years ago ....

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hi again all.

@Scoo yes I did fear someone could still be in the house. Luckily my support worker had walked in with me so she stood outside the front door with her camera ready while I went in from the back. It was weird too because lights were on that are usually not left on when bro and sil go out, and drawers open in their bedroom. But thank goodness nothing was happening. Afterwards when I msgd my bro he said 'we live a charmed life' and 'that's just anxiety' - I really did not appreciate the latter comment. Since then my sil, her mum and even my psychiatrist have told me my feelings were appropriate for the situation. Sometimes bro just doesn't get it when it comes to my cPTSD issues, which is a worry when he's my main support person.

Hi @Tropicalrose you're welcome here too.

Look forward to getting to know you both better.

@Bunniekins I had a wee nap too. Decided to have a coffee-free day today and have been tired since getting back from my holiday, so I gave in to it this morning.

@Adge how are things going for you lately?

Hey @MDT @BlueBay hope you're both enjoying your morning. Nice to hear you are getting to see your grandchild BlueBay. It's a special relationship. I have 2 - 5 1/2 yrs and 1 1/2 years and I just dote on them.

Hi @eth

Will see what the day decides. Need a sketch book to practice some stuff from an Inky Wonderlands book I just got so have to go out for a while. It shows how to draw different things easily

@Adge How are you going today my friend?

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Body & mind not cooperating with anything that I want (or need) to do @Bunniekins

That's dissociation for you (what it does) on a regular basis - Zombie land, Big time.

Along with feeling so fatigued these past few weeks - maybe it's "excessive expectations" & overwhelm due to the new year.

When really tired my Dyslexia likes to play games with me when I try to type or write - as when I was trying to reply to you & @eth a while ago.

Then I cannot get my fingers to type, or the words to come out properly - so had to give up & leave it until later.

Ironic (isn't it) - considering that I am a "Touch Typist" (trained) through my first job (Clerical Traineeship).

@Adge sorry to hear that you are having a hard time today Adge. Is it exacerbated by the hot weather we have been having? I hope you are feeling better soon. Love peaxx

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Hi @waterlover you're welcome and yes it's fine to ask for advice here - this thread was started by me and always intended to be 'anything goes' - wherever you're at today it's ok to share. If you tag me (put an @ and you'll see a drop down box, you can then type the name you want - as I have done for your name here) I will get a notification and be able to reply on your thread. Or just give me the name of it here so I can find it.

@Adge Sounds frustrating not being able to type sometimes. Looking forward to catching up with you when you're able. For a different reason (hand tremors) I had years of not always being able to use any sort of keypad so I know how it feels.

Quiet here today. I'll be around for a while if anyone wants to chat.
