Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

Well hello to anyone who's discovered this new thread .... and welcome!!!

For some time I've noticed things are a bit quiet on a Saturday, especially in the evening. So this will be a social gathering for all forumites and hopefully a place to relax and meet friends. It's also a place where you can talk about whatever's going on for you at the moment, safely, and find support.

If you want to bring something to eat or drink that would be welcome, whatever makes you happy.

Actually that may be a good place to start - jump in anywhere and let us know one thing that makes you happy - currently or over time.

Really looking forward to finding a posse to hang with on a Saturday.

L E T ' S P A R T Y !!!

And of course the beverage of your choice.

EDIT : Do feel free to contribute some music too. Of any style. The more the merrier ...

I teach a lot of adults @TAB @Adge

I find it such a privilege to be beside an adult swimming for their first time.

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

I could swim as a kid @Angels333 it just had got to the stage my stroke was nearly dog paddle lol so went back to lessons. There was another regular who had never swum before. I got their fingernails in my chest when they panicked at deep end of pool, the ladder was close, they could swim, just comfort and belief or past experiences maybe

Loving the water stories.

@Adge near drowning must have been terrifying

@TAB swimming 1 km is an amazing achievement, keep me posted if you get back into it

Yes I don't think I ever recovered my confidence in water @Angels333

It was at least 3 times that I had to be rescued - one time I was not coming back up (that was it).

I did have lots of swimming lessons after that - but never developed enough upper body strength to stay afloat.

Yes I think swimming 1Km is amazing @TAB

Re: Saturday Soiree - all welcome!!

well, thanks @Adge just a pity I let it go, sometimes I wouldnt do it for 6months and still could.

umm, I used to float before starting to swim, it helped me relax and feel my body more on top of water than below. Floating is about relaxing. your body is a canoe and your arms and legs are your paddles .

Biggest thing that helped me at start was an experienced swimmer telling me it was like walking, so I learned to .. slow down and relax @Angels333
