Failed ECT

Failed ECT

I've had electro shock therapy as a final resort after a failed suicide attempt.

The ECT isn't working. Should I just throw the towel in.

Re: Failed ECT

@Jennifer_waugh, at times like this, I try VERY hard to come into the moment. Forget the past, forget the struggle, forget the 'thinking' it all through. Just come into the moment. Have a cup of tea, look at the items around you and name them - bookcase, floor rug, painting-on-the-wall. Try to stay present and just not-think for a while.

Re: Failed ECT

I still feel awful.

I've always had a job/internships/an idea of where my life was going. That's all disappeared

Re: Failed ECT

What about the media studies in Melbourne idea that you were talking about yesterday? I thought it really sounded like you were in a good position to follow the dream, both academically and financially.

Re: Failed ECT

@Jennifer_waugh, glad to hear rom you...maybe - just spend a quiet time and take off the pressure about ideas/jobs//interneships plans and Melbourne. Drop regrets and self-recrimination.

Maybe just sit for a little while and be kind and gentle to yourself like you are your own best friend.

We will still be here if and when you want to talk about 'plans'. Plans can ramp us up and out of comfort, and I so wish you some comfort right now.
