Checking In

I thought I would start a new discussion/thread for us to check in, and especially when needing extra support. I hope this helps 😃

Re: Checking In

That sounds like a lot to be dealing with @oceangirl
Take it easy on the go.
I hope the situation with your dad is sorted. As for your friend and alcohol it can be tough. Be a friend. Be there. Maybe raise it when you get a chance to but I'm a kind way.

Re: Checking In

ive very hard watching someone with dementia @oceangirl
im a full time carer for someone who has physical disabilities and also mental ones- dementia and is progressively getting worse.

sorry to hear about your friend and the traumas shes sufferred too. it sounds like she uses alcohol to cope or thats what she find helps. you can only be there for her, which often is the hardest thing because you cant do much more then encourage her to seek help and offer a listening ear if she needs

Re: Checking In

@TABI have been trying to treat her with compassion and to be non judgemental. She is really struggling. The reason being because she is going through a divorce. She is used to having money but now doesn't have the access to money like she did. Unfortunately I can't support her or take responsibility for her.

We meet in rehab, I was in there for depression and she was in their alcoholism, depression and anxiety. I'm not sure what happen with her marriage and I don't really want to know unless she wants to talk about it. After she separated from her husband she started a new relationship with someone from rehab. And last June he passed away in her arms - it will be his anniversary in two weeks time when he passed away. I try not to be judgemental with her choices. I think she has been really affected by his passing. Her boyfriend was in my group in hospital- he had PTSD and alcoholism. He came from a military background and was high up in the army. It is very sad that he passed away, he was a very nice guy. I just hope she will be okay.
