I thought I would start a new discussion/thread for us to check in, and especially when needing extra support. I hope this helps 😃

Re: Checking In

@oceangirl I agree with you to put people who support you as priority. I think you will go far with determination and hard work. For me, I have come to accept who I am and my own limitations. I am not unhappy. Funny I even feel kind of peaceful.

regards and take care.

Re: Checking In

That's awesome that you feel great post hairdressing appointment @oceangirl. It's great that you are joining groups and meeting like-minded people. Being kind, caring and empathetic are such great traits to have but it often leaves us being taken advantage of, so I can see how that can affect you. Looking after yourself and finding the right social circle for you will only help you more with helping your parents.

Where in the states have you been to?

Re: Checking In

@Ali11You seem to articulate what I am thinking, so thank you . I am going to try to spend most of my time at the local gym. I like to see the good in all people that is who I am.

I have mainly been to Hawaii - oahu, maui, hawaii- I think I have been there ten times. And I have been to San Francisco and Yosemite twice. This time I am going to the big apple, San Fran and Hawaii.

I hope you have a good night

Re: Checking In

I think I am reflecting on old ways of doing things @oceangirl when they had a social secretary at work (30 yrs) ... who got the job as they knew everything about everybody and were popular .... so in my minds eye ... they were better at social stuff than me .... nowadays there are heaps of ice breakers and maybe better ways of getting to know others ...

Re: Checking In

Its good that you're reflecting apple @Appleblossom . I would rather keep to myself and away from the drama. I prefer the company of my family, that is what matters to me. I don't think people who know about others means they are necessay popular. I have always been well liked, being popular does not interest me, what matters is that I am good person with intergrity and treat others well. I am happy in my own skin...

Re: Checking In

I think you have misunderstood me @oceangirl taken what I said and twisted it.

I dont care about being popular and always cared about my family, more than most people could possibly imagine, but my family did not have much support or protection and have died too young, no matter how hard I tried. People have a hard time understanding me or having empathy for my brothers and sisters and other truly abandoned children (so I dont take it as personal).. in the end I tried to understand others.

You have lots of support and that is great ....you do not need to reach out ... I am tired of being misunderstood tho. Take Care

Re: Checking In

Hey @Appleblossom & @oceangirl,

I am just checking in as i am not sure if i am picking up on some tension here. The nature of online commuinication means there is no social or verbal cues and misinterpretation is easy to do.

If it is all okay please don't mind me, however if it is becoming heated and suport is needed, please do not hesitate to email us. In the meantime please make sure to look after yourselves and even check out our resources of conflict and self care which you can find here.

All the best,

Turquoise.
