Deep emotional pains

Deep emotional pains

Hi @outlander @CheerBear and everyone. I experience deep emotional pains in relation to my childhood under the thumb of my father and his demanding control of my young adult life, that I missed significant opportunities to life happinesses.

In the past, the intense pains sent me so emotional and distressed that I stopped my medication and became very sick over and over again.I had fifteen admissions in ten years.

Now I realize I have to deal with that in order to live without admissions.

I hope to find support, compassions from everyone and we can help each other in dealing with our deep issues.

Re: Deep emotional pains

@BlueBay Deep emotional pains are very intense and strong. At the time, they blurr our judgement. Better take it easy for a while, comfort and reward and kind to yourself. It will pass and you will feel light and pleasant again.

adding to what you said to @BlueBay --- Better take it easy for a while, comfort and reward and to be kind to yourself. @Meowmy

@Meowmy, a coping box is anything that might help you through each day

like movies that you like watching , books to read , colouring in , arts or crafts , going for a walk , a swim

mine is having a cuppa on the front steps or under a tree

wrote down some of other members that will have some wonderful ideas for you xx

Re: Deep emotional pains

@Meowmy I have some oils in my coping box - fragrances that I like to put in my vapouriser and the lovely smells fill the house - it is very calming for me. I also have a collection of balls and 'squishy' things that I can hold and move around - keeping my hands occupied often helps me to ground myself. Basically - as @Shaz51 has said - a coping box is a collection of things that you can grab easily and quickly to help ground yourself when your emotions are taking over - usually using the five senses - so anything that helps you get out of your head a little.

@Shaz51 @Meowmy @BlueBay @Zoe7 @MDT and everyone my ways of coping are fast walking. I want to run again. I like pushing my body to the limit as far as I can go. I also like to treat myself with herbal products for my skin. As I am aging I am finding my body is less forgiving but I keep trying. It is my way of coping 🙂

Re: Deep emotional pains

Keeping some hand cream in your Coping box is a good idea @Meowmy . It occupies you for a few minutes to run it in, it’s a self-care action, and if you can cope with a scented one then it engages your sense of smell as well. It can create a time-out moment, a circuit-breaker.
