Hobbies (from Hobbits)

Hobbies (from Hobbits)

Hi everyone,

I'm called Hobbit. I'm a moderator on this forum, which gives me the wonderful opportunity to read through vastly complex, often sad, often happy posts from everyone. I'd like to thank everyone for their wonderful insights and for sharing their thoughts. I have said to many people I know, "if you want to see the basic 'good' in people, the strengths, the determination and perserverance, the warm-ness, and just plain 'nice-ness' in humans that we often forget exists, have a look at the discussions from these fantastic people".

I read a great post from someone earlier who said that getting away from it all and losing themselves to a hobby restores them and keeps them balanced.

So I thought I'd start this little discussion thread about hobbies. (I just wrote 'Hobbies from Hobbits because that's who I am....I'd love to hear hobbies from anyone...even Elves).

My main hobby is playing guitar. Sometimes I find my life is just made up of working/studying/working/studying...so I love sitting down and just paying guitar. I actually write songs, so playing guitar is such a great way of losing myself in creativity.

Let's hear about anyone else's hobbies! What do you like to do? What keeps you balanced? What is somehting you can 'lose yourself in' for a little while?

Hi guys,

That's awesome @PeppiPatty about getting a new job - let us know how it's going, what is it?

I'm with @Alessandra1992 , send us a pic of the pouch you made!!

I hope you guys are going great, I know I am a moderator, but talking with people such as you guys on this forum really benefits me so much as well. I get so much out of hearing you guys doing well, your insights, your strengths, just connecting, etc.

Here's a funny little joke I heard recently - just to be taken light-heartedly

Hahahahaha. Ha ha hahaha
I've just finished work for today and. Am very tired.
My passion is working and studying in social welfare. but I've got to start somewhere and
It's a place to start.

for. Few years I've been on strong medication but with the support and kick start thoughts from you people, my partner and .....my own intuition, I went to see a doctor and and she put me on a health care plan.
this is not the job I want. It is not bad at all, caring for people in the community but I want to be more of a personal advocate.
for people who have experienced mental ill health because of trauma in their lives.
I think.
I am very surprised and touched that Sandy and Hobbit want to see me embroidery, Ille try and get a photo of it.
hope your havingfun and a good day today,
He,lo all

Re: Hobbies (from Hobbits)

Hi hobbit,
The job is okay.......I am ashamed to write (not really) that I am cleaning elderly people's homes but I'm not giving up on my cleaner....
Lol lol
I am still dragging my lovely friend over every night in last few nights in promise of a good meal and bowl ice cream for the two games of scrabble

Re: Hobbies (from Hobbits)

That all sound pretty cool @PeppiPatty !!!

So essentially you could say your cleaning job keeps you busy enough to need a cleaner!! I think it's great - think about it - you get a job, your own cleaner therefore gets a job....you get your own house cleaned...and the person you clean for gets their house cleaned too. Everyone's a winner!!

Awesome!

Hobbit.
