Yikes @Shaz51 isn't it so frustrating when aging parents insist on doing things a particular way?

Are SIL and BIL being too helpful. Are you happy with the house plans? Do you feel they are rushing you? I do hope you can get a few silver linings and can afford to put in things that you might like such as a full bath tub (or even better a spa type bath tub if you are dreaming of one), adequate cupboards etc.

Funny I really like the house plan , very similar to my SIL,'s house , love to see it built bit feeling it is going to cost more than the insurance will pay

@Shaz51 if you like the house plans, see what insurer says and take it from there, they can always be adjusted, the builder can advise.

Anticipatory grief is something I am living with too, finding a balance is essential. On one hand, living under the threat of tomorrow's loss can rob us of our today's if we are not careful but it can also be skill building and help us find courage to deal with what lies ahead.

Mr shaz cancelled his appointment with the doctor

Not much you can do but to go along with it

Mr shaz has gone back to bed again, sleeping already

All we can do is encourage best practice @Shaz51 .

I keep reiterating to Mr D that it is hit and miss with a lot of treatment and to keep up hope that sooner rather than later we will find what works for him (in our case, pain is the present issue).

Stress + MI = poorer coping. I keep praying I will have the wisdom as to when to push vs when to hold back. There will be more holding back required but need to ensure supports are accessible when we need them.

Got a call from SIL @Shaz51 my mum had a second fall in as many days. They called in to see her as they were concerned she hadn't answered her phone. She had not pressed her buzzer and had been laying on the floor for a few hours.

Haven't got full update as yet @Shaz51 but believe being kept in hospital for assessment and monitoring.
