but I know he did not want to stay for a cuppa afterwards , but he did but just sat there saying nothing

awww just got home from taking mum to the hospital for her leg to be redressed

the wound had to be scrapped -- ouch

and the nurse told us that i should get more support for my mum

( she knocked her skin on the wheeling walker) not a fall this time

awww the nurse went on and on

what else can someone do !!!!!!

Sometimes someone outside the family need to speak directly to the patient and this often helps them agree to more help @Shaz51 .

I would be gently but firmly telling the nurses that despite your best efforts your mum is resistant to getting the extra help and that if he or she could say something to her that would help change her mind you would appreciate it.

I agree with what @Former-Member says @Shaz51 . It's worth a try.

Is your Mum not eligible for community nurses to visit her in her home? Or does she live too far out of town? It would really change your life to have something like this in place, tho' I understand you so don't need anyone putting pressure on you and implying your care isn't good enough. Insensitive nurse indeed.

the real problem is mum is ok at home but because of she delicate skin now , she bumps her leg on the walker and then her leg bleeds and needs treatment

so we have been getting redressing for different little accidents for the last 5 months up at the hospital

i don`t think any added help will stop this happening , even if i am there 24/7
