Exo's Exposé

Exo's Exposé

Looking for somewhere to hide in the Forum, no offense to anyone, I'm just kinda used to my own space - it feels safer to me. I often feel like I'm 'butting in' on other threads, I want to say something but it isn't 'in-line' with the current flow of conversation.

It rained here yesterday, dogs & cats weren't falling from the sky, but the grounds wet, there's puddles in my driveway & it's soooooooo sooooooo much cooler 😄 Guru Google even promises more!! After this weird wet stuff stopped dropping from above, I took the dogs for their walk, I do this almost every afternoon, but after a storm with close lightning strikes, my main purpose is to check the fence is still upright everywhere. I'm happy to announce it was all in tip-top shape 🙂 I noticed new puddle spots all the way around, I was sad that some trees had to be pushed over for the fence line, but the dip of their absence looks quite beautiful with a drop of moisture shimmering within. When I had completed the usual circuit I by-passed returning into the house-yard & wandered through to the dam. I think I may have been a little rain-drunk, I was hoping to see water in it, there wasn't any. I even went & stood in the very center of it's base, I think I was expecting to sink in mud - I didn't; but the cracks are gone . . . & they were huge. So if the Guru comes through with it's promise, there may yet be a puddle for my Staffy to play in 😉

I've decided to leave my camping trip to the beach for another week, rain wouldn't stop me - it rarely rains 24 hrs a day, but storms have - they often have devastingly strong winds that can break off & pick up reasonably heavy objects, that become dangerous ammunition. I've been emailing with the owners of this place, I'll still be in the off-peak season if I leave it another week - though I worry being so close to the Easter holiday, there's a more likely chance of more people. I keep telling myself I've just got to 'get over' that, that that would be all part of the experience - but I know I'm lying to myself. I picked this spot mainly because of the dog-friendly off-lead beach, but also because on the satelite view of Google maps I could see that there's no towns around it. It's one of the most isolated camping parks I've seen {that's within 5 hours of home, well - maybe just a little more}. It also admits it has old amenities, I saw negitive feedback about the place for those reasons - I think if you want to go to a resort . . . that's where you go - not to a place that describes itself as a rustic, old fashioned bush camping park 😉

Have a lovely time with your sister @Exoplanet . Always good to hear your news. Good work with the pumps and batteries, as usual you've impressed me with your independence.

Re: Exo's Exposé

I've booked my next trip, only a couple of hours down from where I am & not across towards the sea 😉 I'll be going from the Monday after next until the following Friday 🙂 The joy of fear has started, it's a rise in anxiety but it makes me smile 😄 I'm going to get back out there & this time I've got a site right on the river bank! I will be able to see the water from the back of my ute! 😄 😄 I know it's just my perception, but I look at my Staffy & I think he looks so bored; we haven't even been for a walk in the forest for quite some time. I've got 10 000 reasons to walk on my own property & we do, every day! But I know I've been finding my everyday routine very tedious, I know I'm bored 😉 So this trip gives me something to look forward to, something different - to see, hear, smell . . . experience: & I think that's what lifes all about - experiences, unfortunately there's always good & bad ones, sometimes the bad ones never leave you, but in my opinion that makes it all the more important to seek out good ones. I accept that I limit my experiences a great deal, I find it neccessary for the quality of my life to feel safe; but I also accept that there are still good experiences that I can seek out & so far {touch wood} I haven't had any terrible ones whilst taking these trips, since I started a year or more ago {I'm no good at remembering time frames}. These trips give me a sense of living my life ❤️

Hi @Exoplanet I'm happy for you, heading off on another adventure. I really miss the trips I used to do all the time. Feeling safe is a major challenge for me, so I admire you all the more for feeling the 'joy of fear' and getting out there. Lovely as always to hear from you.

@Zoe7 nice to see you today too.

Hope today is one of the better ones for you both xoxo

I got back home yesterday afternoon, I always find one of the benefits of going away is realizing 'there's no place like home'. I might not have the wet stuff & without that I don't have any of the birds in these pictures & it is at least 5 degrees hotter - but it's the things I do have in my home . . . my comfortable recliner with cushions I have perfected over the years & of course the most comfortable bed in the Universe 😄 My permanent solar systems, water on tap, insulated roof & walls & possibly the most comforting part of home - the 30x40m 6ft dog proof fence around my house & dog mesh fence surrounding my property 🙂 I also find it amusing that when we return the dogs, although having been on chains & in cages for almost a week, run straight to the front door & stare at it, impatiently awaiting me to open it. They could run in bush, but well, I guess - there's no place like home 😉

It was a lovely spot, I was right on the river - but the river was dammed & not flowing, I'm not complaining & considering there was no water in it at the beggining of the year, I was very grateful to be there when I was. It must have been a terribly sad sight when it was dry. There were other campers {well caravaners - I was the only one with a tent type set up, I camp in my ute & a gazebo tent} but no loud party type, mostly retiree types, quiet & pleasant.

Re: Exo's Exposé

It sounds like a wonderfully peaceful trip @Exoplanet I do get the dogs running straight to the door. Toby does the same - stands there looking up at the doorknob waiting for me to open the door. They are so cute and love their routines.

I will need to come back later to see the pictures (when they are cleared) but I have no doubt I will love them like all of your photos.

As always, it is wonderful to see you here and to get an update on your travels. Hugs and hugs to you Hon
