The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

hi @Former-Member,

Yes several underlaying causes, i was physically abused by a catholic nun when i was 8, for over a year, she locked me in a room and force fed me, because she thought i was under fed.

ever since then i have had seperation anxiety from my parents. my life fell apart since then.

my family is causing me major problems, and everything in my life is just falling apart. i am just struggling.

i am 34 years old. and living with mum

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi all ( @Former-Member and @Former-Member and @Jacques )

Just wanted to say thanks for last night. Things went okay at work - my boss said it wasn't the way she would have done it, but it worked and that's fine. Phew!!!!!

And she bought back a gift from her travels to say thanks for my hard work. 🙂

I'm feeling a bit shitty now cause my eye glasses prescription has gone from -4 to -6 in the last 12 months and my optometrist can't tell me that it won't get worse. 😞 It shouldn't really matter what the numbers are, I've been wearing glasses for half my life and it doesn't worry me. But still.....

@Jacques, I'm 30 and live at home. I've not been able to live independently since I got sick. It doesn't mean bad things about you. If you moved home because of cancer, it woudln't be shameful, so it's the same for mental illness.

Uni....... FML. I'm just trying to pick which subject to continue with. I'm so far behind for them all. 😞

Re: The Beer Garden

i have been made fun of by family and friends for living at home, i have not had a night away from my parents since 1994, i was so frantic that night mum and dad had to pick me up after midnight.

i know i should not be ashamed, but i am because society says i should be independant.

thank you for your kind words.

Jacques

That's great news @Former-Member!
There are many roads that lead to the one destination. Your way works and that's all that matters. I'm so pleased for you. 🎶💕

Re: The Beer Garden

I'm sorry @Jacques. That sucks.
You've had to deal with challenges that others have not. I've been told that we shouldn't compare ourselves with others and that it only leads to negative feelings, but to treat yourself with kindness and compassion.

Re: The Beer Garden

Thanks @Shaz51, I'm just moaning cause I can't even make myself a cup of tea without my glasses on these days. But there are plenty of people living in the community with low vision and I'm sure they don't complain.... so really I should be quiet.

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi again @Jacques

Sorry I'm just getting back to you now, I had to go out for my gym session.

Oh my gosh you have been through a lot, and I truly feel for you.

What happen to you is not your fault at all and it makes me angry to hear that you have been treated so badly. I too have trauma in my background too.

It helps me understand you a bit more.

I'm hoping someone else here with a bit more experience could help with some advice @Faith-and-Hope
