@Jacques
Your aunt might be someone who doesn't consider herself in terms of self-care and her own welfare. You don't know how this will play out in that regard .... you may have done her a favour without realising it. Her kids may have offered her money from time to time, and she may have refused it, thinking she could scrape by, and not wanting to be selfish .... but your observation may cause her to think about it some more, and she might then take money or gifts as she is offered them, improving her situation.
Try not to distress yourself in regard to your girlfriend. Don't forget she cares about you too, and doesn't want to hurt you. Presume on her understanding until you know otherwise .... stay on the positive side of things. We can spend so much time worrying about things that never happen ..... try to only worry when there is proof that there is something to worry for.
Your sleep pattern needs attention and quite possibly intervention @Jacques. My S2 went onto a melatonin medication earlier this year when his sleep hours tipped into daytime and was awake all night. Your body produces melatonin naturally, but stress can affect the production of it, so a GP can give you a course of it to get your system balanced again. I suggest you make an appointment and get on top of it quickly, if you can. Sleep deprivation will be working against everything else in your life at the moment, but it's a relatively easy fix.
Take care of you @Jacques. To be a carer, the golden rule is making sure you recharge your own batteries, or you end up needing a carer too ....
Hugs ❤️
