The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

Re: The Beer Garden

Thanks for message @Former-Member 💕

I was going to mention sugar. 😀

I noticed a couple of times you mentioned you didn't sleep well after you'd eaten chocolate (sugar).
I remember you saying a while ago that you thought you might have ADHD???
Sugar is a "no no" with ADHD. 😯😮😀
If I have anything with sugar in it, I don't sleep well.
If I want chocolate or something sweet, I try to have it before lunch.
Just a thought.

We were going to do emdr today, got side tracked. 😯
She's going to start with the least traumatic event to see how I go.

Sleep well leia. xo 😙 nighty night.

Nighty night @Faith-and-and-Hope @Former-Member @TAB @Shaz51 and everyone who's on here tonight. 😴💕

Re: The Beer Garden

Thanks so much for your feedback @Former-Member . I'll just try to keep pushing on for the time being. I am thinking I may need respite and more support soon, so I may decide to go into hospital for a few weeks. I think I may need to follow my intuition on this one, and additionally on ways for me to heal and take those steps forward. I have done it before and no reason I can't do it again.

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi @Faith-and-Hope and @TAB

I know what @Faith-and-Hope is going through with WH @TAB and I understand her point of view - I think WH doesn't know there is a different plan going on about his diagnosis - if I have that right

But yes - I would not be as easy to get along with - but then - I don't have to put up with the tantrums.

Still - I remember on the occasions when I would stay at my now ex-bf's house for the night and he thought breakfast in bed was a good idea - but started to yell instructions including which spoon - yeah TAB - I would take a tray with a bowl and the weetbix, milk and sugar and the right spoon up to his room and give it to him to fix for himself.

But then - he was just being picky - @Faith-and-Hope's WH has something else happening

We don't know what it's like to walk in someone else's shoes - we never know if there is a different plan that - eg - WH - doesn't know about

And then there is love - and when people are at their most unlovable they need the most love - even if it is sandwiches with the crusts cut off or whatever - something we can't see - but which needs as much respect as anyone else

Re: The Beer Garden

@Decadian

While the food itself is a healthy choice .... I have no problem with that ..... it's the mindset that is so, so wrong. This is Orthorexia. Just this part of it is an ed all of it's own.

Then there's the exercise part. Take a normal well-balances exercise program, and triple it .....and that's the cut-back version of want we had a couple of years ago ..... and last year he stopped the hour a day 7/7 sprinting laps in the pool .... after I blew with whistle on him in a dr's appointment ..... but he reacted by moving into the spare room and telling his brother (not me) that we were separated ..... managed to talk him down from there, but it set lines I can't cross ....

Now it's just a waiting game. I have done all I can. EDV suggested the forums for relief and support ..... so thankful to have found y'all ..... it's a very lonely walk otherwise.

Friends and family can't do anything. Everyone is just waiting, except those who are impressed by something they don't understand is undoing him .....

It's not about the food and exercise. It's an attempt to self-medicate whatever else is going on inside his head and heart ....

Haven't run out of live for him yet .... none of us have ..... but we've got a tiger by the tail ....

❤

Re: The Beer Garden

Thanks @Faith-and-Hope

Every time you explain something I get a better picture - it seems - without the info - as if he is a control freak but I know better than that now

Is Orthorexia am Eating Disorder? I guess it is but if I leave this post now the chances are I won't find it again so I will look in a minute

I remember that you said once that your WH's behaviour had been so extreme it was endangering his health - so he has stopped these heart-hacking swimming sprints - he can't be a teenager any more now - so this would be scary -

Really - this must take all your Christian love and tolerance and more - and I appreciate it when you give us some more insight - because this is a story of love that is immense -

Many of us were brought up treated with less understanding and tolerance - my grumbling appendix was ignored until I nearly died - and among other things about other issues I have been told that the older generation lived through one or two wars and a depression and this was hard - we don't have that now

And this lack of tolerance toward people today wears thin with me - are we any less at war than having world wars? - are we any more financially stable that the great depression?I don't think so - but in this century people are seeing more about MI and emotional discomfort

My mind is open for more education - many people do not have an open mind - and it is a good thing that in this day and age more people are caring and I am so glad to have found so many of these sensitive people in this website
