The Beer Garden

The Beer Garden

i encourage you all to join me for some casual drinking, social lubrication and light laughter right here in the beer garden.

Oh and before anyone gets up in arms about alcohol and its dangers the main beer on tap is VB or virtual beer

beer is the third most commonly consumed drink in the world behind water and tea

why not share the worlds joy with friends

Re: The Beer Garden

Morning @Decadian,

Glad you could get back online. 😊
Thank you for looking out for me.
The mastitis is clearing, just the remants of tiredness.
I'm still congested in chest, I think a reflection of spring like weather!
I never looked at cliquey people in terms of dependency.
But yes it makes the world of sense, to break it up like this.
I'm fiercely independent.
I think I've come to rely on my partner, but he's found me a mixed bag of eccentricities.
It dawned on me as I wrote to @Former-Member, the cliquey group just haven't done yards like mine.
So I'm sure i stand like some renegade, aloof, lady!!
I've become self reliant, & have met many songle mothers. Plenty of gypsys about!
However with moves, I've not kept contacts.
Ive always lived from my heart.
This is my spring forth note to self today.
And it's Friday hooray.

Thank you @Former-Member too. It's nice getting to know you & others a little more on the forum.
My psychologist said I don't give myself enough credit & have lots to offer.
It's only through remembering aspects of my life, I start to recall oh Yeh that's me!!
Where was I?!!! 😅😏😉

I better get a move on for school run!!
💜💜🌌☕🌼

Re: The Beer Garden

Hi @Former-Member

It's so good to be back in the website - I missed everyone

And I am also glad your mastitis is clearing up - cabbage leaves or not - I read a lot of stuff for and against - ambiguous comments - eg - rather against antibiotics - because the baby gets them in the breast milk - ah - I thought - if the baby is drinking breast milk from a sore and infected breast a few antibiotics would most likely not do any harm - what is a nursing mother supposed to do? Take in limited items of all sorts and conditions - we all evolve along with the rest of creation..

Anyway - cliques - I have never understood why people form groups like that? I grew up on a police station - I was different - I didn't get in with those people who have secret rules - I was popular enough with my friends though they were few. There are people who do not want their children playing with the policeman's dubious offspring

However - in Year 10 the teacher gave the Form Captain a ticking-off and I remember turning around and staring. The teacher said she was popular and a leader and needed to set an example. I had not heard the term "clique" then - but I saw the captain and her buddies were pretty ordinary. I never saw them as anything interesting. I never wanted to be one of them. It was one of those "aha" moments in my life and I have thought about it often.

But I love it that you are a "mixed bag of eccentricities" - How wonderful!!. I guess your partner can cope with that and you can rely on him - even if you are fiercely independent. You have young children - you need help with them - that's why children normally have two parents.

I am pretty eccentric myself - my aim in life was to become an eccentric old lady like my grandmother - a friend told me I was already eccentric - I have made it up to the old part - yet dunno about being a lady. I have learned to stand alone though - but let's think about the gypsies - I have been a single mother since dd was 17 - I think I embarrass her at times - but as long as I don't embarrass myself.

The only time I drank too much was when I was alone on holidays - I didn't know the cocktail was that strong - it was a fantastic drink - luckily I only drank half of it. I haven't kept contacts as I have moved on in life - I put my energies into the new people I meet -

It's is pretty wonderful being a bit different

Dec

Nice getting to know you too @Former-Member 👍💕
Did you get enough sleep?
I just did school drop off, an hour earlier. Tutorial class on before school. Senior high is demanding.
Had a nightmare, so I'm going to try and sleep a little more.
Enjoy your day. Nice and sunny here. 🌞

Hi @Decadian. 😊💜

Re: The Beer Garden

I agree @Decadian ..... it is pretty wonderful to be a bit "different" ....

I have something of a chameleon quality .... probably from growing up travelling around and needing to make new friends all the time .... you sort of learn how to match your new surroundings a bit, and take on the social behaviours of those you want to "make it" with .... but you're exactly right .... ❣ ..... even as a child I remember having those significant "a-ha" moments of recognising that I didn't actually like some of the social behaviours of others around me, or even their personalities perhaps ..... and did I really want to fit in enough to compromise my own authenticity and / or integrity ?

Very short answer - no ❣

So .... in the absence of any other company .... it means coming to terms with self-care as a priority .... and in essence becoming your own best friend ....

Amongst others, I think you and @Former-Member are front-runners in this arena .... showing the rest of us how it's done ....

❤️💕

Re: The Beer Garden

@Former-Member ..the good people stay and the others fade away, some quicker than others, if they were ever 'there'.. am still in touch with someone went to school with, others came and went, there's a guy who pulled the absolute 'P' out of me at work nine years ago, we kept meeting up on jobs and things settled down and became friends, caught up outside work a few times in the last year. he's ok.

..yeah 'we are the gypsies ..coming to steal your horse'.. think Goodies tv show lol

Re: The Beer Garden

😊 @Decadian...yes I see aspects of my life in your telling also.
My friend and I in Yr.11 were hell bent on being rock star grannies, blue rinses, shopping at what used to be 'Georges'..(upper class area for sophisticated older ladies)..lol..it does make me laugh.
This particular friend was good fun.
She had an interesting home life, Maltese family- mum worked with disabled, her dad a creative of sorts sporting pony tail, lean, dope smoker...her brother a rave, dance party fanatic involved in graffiti scene..I have made colorful friends.
All kinds to never see them again.
But true, we move on.
I've grown up into another version of me! 😉

My psychologist mentioned the personality disorders...I looked into this group.
Avoidant personality..well aspects I relate too, because my experience was join the so called popular group that seems to have it all, or run with the outer fringe...I choose the broader category!
Phew.

I ran some chores, New shoes etc for S3 after drop off, and slowly, slowly become swallowed by the negative energy of this group.
It was horrible.
I thought omg can I keep taking my son to his classroom, even his two teachers appear part of the 'club'. ..agghh.
I knew my sugar levels haven't been right, a bit feint on & off...possibly the iron, but also my body processing it all.
I kept telling myself, your bigger than this, why is this bothering me so much?

I think sometimes life just gets caught up.
So for now my inner radar is looking, I'm observing.

I dreamt my ex mother in law had a fall, & I helped her up. I told my boys this morning perhaps you should visit granny, she's needing some help.
I'm not sure why I dreamt of her.
But I have in the past had an uncanny knack of knowing when someone's time is coming close to finish.
Maybe other workings are going on internally for me, that existing in my 'real' reality seems surreal...unimportant because deeper tides are turning.
My leaving note for now.

Thank you all. Comments today gave me sense of place.
@Decadian
@Faith-and-Hope
@Former-Member...maybe lacking sleep but I feel ok 💛..I think dark nights of the soul pass .we see them through.

😁🐎👍💜@Tab...lol I do like that. Damm straight I'm coming to steal their horses!!
...show you clowns a thing or two! 😉 lol

..it's true...perhaps I'll get better at wiser acceptance that many more of you here do better than I.
Lol..yes thanks for the lighter look at it...makes perfect sense!
I wonder how I get so wrapped up in crap! 😏...My partner said last night. C'mon what are you thinking..it's something..you've got that look on your face!
At one stage he asked what I'd been smoking.
My articulation gets jumbled between emotions, injustice, fear. determination...agghh.
An intellectual dyslexia!! Lol 😂
