My fitness journey

My fitness journey

The journey has begun. Today I joined a gym and bought some clothes to train in. I want to slim down and prevent the risk of type 2 diabetes. I thought I’d start a thread for my journey and start posting about the journey. Hopefully it will see an improvement in my mental health too due to all those feel good chemicals.

So, this is Day 1... I’m nervous but excited at the same time.

Love the clothesline idea @TAB @saturnzoon @Bunniekins

I am just walking up and down house with gentle strietch in my arms above my head and trying to straighten out a few kinks.

Prob should back off on the rushing up escalators thing with bp atm..lol

Keeping moving and stretching is a 2020 goal ...

@TAB @Queenie @Appleblossom @saturnzoon @Meowmy @Gazza75 @Scarecrowe Hey and good morning to everyone. I have definitely lost some weight. To be honest I think it is more what I am eating than anything else and the amount of water I am drinking but am thrilled. How is everyone else doing?xx

Re: Re@: My fitness journey

Good on you @Bunniekins

I walked yesterday evening and it was good for me, I put on suitable shoes and strode out, but also wary of overdoing it cos of joints. Made a few people smile or laugh that I passed.

Will focus on moving more and regularly, but also shifting diet to optimise re blood pressure.

Today will be a shocker heatwise so not sure if I will walk tonight.

Take Care

Re: Re@: My fitness journey

@Appleblossom Hey Appleblossom and thank you 😄 good on you for doing the walk. Yes it is meant to be hot here and hotter tomorrow. Went for a brisk walk today to shops and back and will stay in tomorrow (40s here).

ps: I am sure everyone who looked your way were impressed that some one was getting out and and getting fit 🙂

Re: Re@: My fitness journey

I was just randomly making friendly comment to passers by.

@Bunniekins

I used to hang my head, look at my feet and be very tongue tied, never say anything and be caught up in my head (in 20s etc). Its good MH for me to be more outgoing and not so inhibited or self conscious and embarrassed about myself. I enjoyed the Sikh families out playing basketball with their teens etc ... felt validated that I did that but sad my family mocked me for wantingto take kids to playground ... I was just the bottom of the pile ... poor rellie etc ... Yesterday I did not slow or stop ... just passed through .. but it was better vibe for everyone ...rather than awkward or distant or hostile ... when growing up in flats ... there was a hostile gang sitting at bottom of stairs which was always a thing ... to pass through ...

Thanks for reply Bella
