My fitness journey

My fitness journey

The journey has begun. Today I joined a gym and bought some clothes to train in. I want to slim down and prevent the risk of type 2 diabetes. I thought I’d start a thread for my journey and start posting about the journey. Hopefully it will see an improvement in my mental health too due to all those feel good chemicals.

So, this is Day 1... I’m nervous but excited at the same time.

Re: My f@itness journey

haha @Bunniekins I'm a total choccy monster. I just wear runners or even blundstones, I've never felt the need to invest in hiking boots. I drive an hour, an 1.5 hrs or if I'm feeling brave 2 hours each way to get to different national parks to do my hikes. The more remote the more wildlife I see (wallabies, lyrebirds) which is a treat but then there's the extra driving to get there. You just need a little backpack to carry your water bottles & snacks, plus a good hat. That would be so cool if you went for a hike!

@BryanaCamp that is an adventure for you 🙂 Good on you BryanaCamp. Maybe when I get my workers courtesy of the ndis I they could come with me then that would help me gain the courage to do it. Make a day of it. I have a hat and good walking shoes and runners so that is covered. Water and snacks could be a bit of an issue for me ..... have to wait and see. I wouldn't have to go far as there are wallabies about 10 mins drive from where I live which is always a novelty :). It is quite hilly terrain as well.

that would be so cool if you could go with your ndis worker @Bunniekins , get something you really want out of the ndis and all the work you've had to do on it. sounds like you're well located for hiking anyways

@BryanaCamp Well done for hiking 10 kilometers. It looks beautiful. May be you deserve the reward. They say if you eat after exercises, the fast metabolism won’t allow it to put on weight. Just cleaning the house. It will take a while. Have a great afternoon. Take care.

Re: My f@itness journey

@Ant7 Oh no! I hate that when it happens. I had to take last Friday, Sat, Sun off doing anything as my foot was feeling stressed. I used to push through pain but not any more. Older and wiser. I hope your foot gets better quickly for you.

hi hang @Shaz51 @Queenie @Meowmy @Bunniekins @Ant7 hope you're all well

I went on a cool 10km forest hike today, it was really misty and mysterious in the forest! Even had a touch of hail, I was toasty in my thermal underwears and raincoat. Here;s some lovely, misty forest for you to ponder, the air was so fresh.
