My fitness journey

My fitness journey

The journey has begun. Today I joined a gym and bought some clothes to train in. I want to slim down and prevent the risk of type 2 diabetes. I thought I’d start a thread for my journey and start posting about the journey. Hopefully it will see an improvement in my mental health too due to all those feel good chemicals.

So, this is Day 1... I’m nervous but excited at the same time.

Hi little super @Bunniekins ! Big hellos from hospital!

I've been going walking every afternoon for an hour at a steady pace. I have leave every afternoon to do this so I don't gain too much weight whilst here due to medications. I have also been watching what I eat. Only lean meat and steamed veg or salads.. nothing fried and no cakes or biscuits.

I've put on weight but my clothes are looser... muscle tone perhaps?

@Queenie Hi Queenie how long will you be in hospital for? Is it a nice private one for you? You are doing so well with your diet and exercise routine well done :). Sounds like muscle tone to me 🙂

@Queenie @Meowmy @BryanaCamp @Shaz51 @Ant7 and all who pass. This morning son2 and I went for an extra early morning walk 4.15! it was so quiet. Just enough cars driving by to make it safe without the hustle and bustle starting. Might try and do it more often. Love greenpeaxxx

wow I wish I could get infected with your early-early morning bug @Bunniekins that's a tremendous effort & nice for your son too, well done.

Good luck with your walk today @Meowmy thanks for the tag.

Feeling pretty glum & demotivated today so not sure if I'll manage a 5km walk. Need meds from the pharmacy so will try to do that as a walk instead of a drive.

Re: My f@itness journey

@Bunniekins hey little pea! I'm not sure how long I'll be in hospital for, but it's a private one so that's good. I did 12,000 steps today so I'm pleased. I have a pedometer on my watch.

Re: My f@itness journey

hello lovely fitness people @Queenie @Bunniekins @Meowmy @Shaz51 @Ant7

I did a short but strenuous forest hike up in the hills yesterday, good & sweaty, 10 kms! I felt really good on the way back down, after the tough hike up. Here's some forest treetops for you to ponder, it was a lovely sunny, autumn day and I enjoyed the light & shadow playing on the tree trunks.

How are you all going with your fitness, hope all are well today
