Partners who chose to stay for the long haul

Partners who chose to stay for the long haul

Living and loving someone with MI presents relationship challenges and often others cannot see why we chose to stay with our partners.

Being mindful of not intruding on others stories I thought having a thread where we can share tips and encourage one another would be of value.

@Former-Member So terribly sorry to hear about your mum. Know that we are thinking of you but please allow all the space and time to process your feelings. x

Thank you all for your kind words of support and concern! I wish I could reciprocate here and do the same for each of you and others. But right now my wife is paranoid of all things electrical as well as all the "others" who she fears are tapping into our conversations through my laptop. I hope to be able to find time to return to this forum and participate without the potential of adding fuel to her paranoia.

Thinking of you. My son used to think his phone wad hacked all the time, he still thinks I know things that can help him get millions of $ given to him...but I am a liar when I say I don't understand. Hope you've had a few good moments lately. 🙃

Hello long haulers

Maintaining flexibility = necessary.

Having to chill a little so that my blood pressure does not rise.

If/when you are able, was wondering how you got on in relation to eulogy.

Hi @Former-Member Funeral for Mum was yesterday. Graveside burial on a cold overcast day. I was happy with the eulogy I wrote. The minister did the facts and figures and history type stuff, plus extras. I wrote my part on behalf of children and grandchildren. I wanted to deliver it myself, but had standby arrangements in place, should I not be able to on the day.

I got through almost to the end, then couldnt go on. Some particularly poignant memories I tried to tell, broke me. But after hubby came to my rescue I composed myself enough to finish it after a bit of a break. My family are not public speakers AT ALL .. So I was quite proud of myself for doing it. I think Mum would be too. But its all been so emotionally draining.

@Faith-and-Hope @Shaz51 @Zoe7 @Bunniekins for info. 😀
