Ditching the Ciggers

Ditching the Ciggers

Hi Everyone , am quitting smoking after doing it for 16 years the last time. A good day was a packet, a bad day on the drink, well double that. I have some old patches and lozenges. What could go wrong? ok to my advantage Im off work so can hide myself away physically to get thru first bit.

ok its day 2.

Re: Ditching the Ciggers

Whatever works @TAB, @Bill16, and all here. Just think of all the money you'll save 🙂 In a months time you'll wonder how you did it - keep going. Chew gum. sip water, suck ice cubes, chew pens or straw lol, you'll feel heaps healthy without all those toxins poisoning you every day.

Re: Ditching the Ciggers

Adding to the cheersquad here for your day 3 as well @TAB It really is one day at a time for these things and even if you slip occasionally you can start again - hoping you continue to stay off the ciggies though for yourself. SOunds like a wise move seeing if you can get the patches cheaper through your GP - would give you extra money in your pocket to do other things also.

Re: Ditching the Ciggers

Thanks @Zoe7 drs is tomorrow earliest could get in. Looked at inhalator things like @Bill16 had, theyre like pretend cigs with nicotine, theyre the same price as cigarettes? thats insane, anyway 7am when coles open will get another weeks worth, not paying iga prices and dont even know what they charge.

Anyway. No Slip Ups. day 3 today

Re: Ditching the Ciggers

You really are doing very well @TAB

The inhaler sounds like a good substitute to get off the cigs but not go cold turkey. I should look at that too.

Re: Ditching the Ciggers

not sure about that now that I said it @Zoe7 well 2 days off 'hand to mouth' thing already I guess and thanks

Re: Ditching the Ciggers

That 'hand to mouth' thing is just as addictive as the nicotine @TAB I feel like I always need to be doing something with my hands and that is where painting comes in handy (pun intended lol) - I get anxious when I am not occupying myself with something.
