Christmas Loungeroom

For all those who are both celebrating and avoiding Christmas this year the Chistmas Loungeroom is a place for us all to hang out. It is especially for those who will be alone throughout this Christmas period and as a place to come together and enjoy the company of others in what can be a difficult time for many.

Feel free to post your stories, images, grievances, etc. of this period and to leave messages for other members to help each other get through this time of year.

Christmas day can be extra hard for some so this is a place for us all to get together on the day and share it with other members.

Hi @Rosemary4 not sure atm with borders and stuff was going to drive from WA to SA to see father, then things changed again last week.

Well, fall back (most likely) position is Home Alone 2021 lol will cook nice meal and ring people, well, text maybe lol

To be honest, I think Christmas for me will be a very quiet occasion with my housemate going to her mothers for part of the day/evening and myself maybe catching up with my sister. My mother is deceased and as for my father, I don't care about him as he doesn't care about my sister or I. Ever since Mum died in 2002, he's basically isolated himself and did nothing except for retire and drink and try his luck on the dating scene to limited success. He doesn't understand me and although he tried to get back in my life a month or so ago, he failed when I didn't meet his expectations of a daughter so that was the end of that relationship.
Christmas is a weird time for me as I love the season but don't really have many people to celebrate it with so it's hard in that regard. I'll probably spend some of the day here on the forums socialising with others who find Christmas difficult.


How about you? Any plans?

Hey @TAB sorry the boarders are an issue for you for your Chrissy plans, thought boarder closures are supposed to be a thing of the past. But sounds like a plan, munchies and texting. Maybe even a phone call which I personally find to be more 'real' Good to know I'm not alone in being alone 🙏

@Judi9877 sorry it sound a bit empty, re your mum & dad, I'm glad your sister is there for you a biT. that's all we need, someone. I have a cuz threatening to come visit but nothing is in concrete yet 😕 I gathered plenty of Chrissy muchies, and wrapped a few little gifts for them and friends... Still haven't put up the tree to put them under. Gotta rade the garage boxes, find the decs. Not motivated. Need a check list of what we're expected to do. LOL

Would rather hidevunder a rock, boycott Chrissy alltogether sometimes. Too hard. Too much opportunity for the haters and baters to hurt me. Need to form a strategy to get by. Looking for checklists online. At least we have each other here ❣️

Sorry, was at work @Rosemary4 yeah am in WA can leave just not allowed to come back lol ok unless govt quarantine which i would be charged for plus cant do cos none here only in perth so wont let me they said
