I just need to share this: for the first time in so very long, today I actually feel happy. Nothing particularly exciting happened - in fact something unpleasant occurred. It hasn't taken my pleasure away. I had a picnic lunch with another mother and our children. We sat in the sun, on some grass near a playground. We initially sat somewhere else, and were moved on for being inadvertently on "private" land, but it didn't upset me. It was a simple, enjoyable time. And I feel happy. I think I'd forgotten how that feels. I feel light. This is wonderful. Wow!
@eudemonismyou are most welcome. I have not had any experience with schizophrenia but I know there are a number of people on these forums that do. Mine MI is more around PTSD. No doubt you are being tormented from this, I can imagine is would be extremely hard to deal with. I am assuming that since you have been diagnosed that you are getting help. I hope that this is the case. I understand how troubling and stressful going through mental health issues can be. I do hope that you have support around you.

Re: Happiness
@Former-Member from dawn to dusk. Day after day after day I am in a relentless battle with my mental health issues. Delusions. Paranoia. Visual and audio hallucinations. All the stuff i have read about my illness has become a reality. So i have essentially lost contact and disconnected with the real world bye choice so i can fully know what is going on and how it works. (Make the and most of it... ) i suppose i use my illness and my symptoms as a tool. And like using it too work in my favor. Do you think other mentally ill people do this? Kind of like working with it instead of against it. (Not being in denial and not denying my mental illness the attention it needs ) And only revisiting the real world when i need too. Hence, it is kind of enjoyable to be mentally ill and too be slipping in and out of grandiose and persecutory based delusions. Paranoia. And visual and audio hallucinations. And then busily turning my thoughts into verbal and written words. (Telling a story ). But also getting on with life (in the real world ) when i need too. (So i can do well...) think i have developed strategies, tactics, techniques and mechanisms (whatever they maybe ) too control and manage my illness better... (words / self talk ) & (stability from medication ) and got my physical world and life good enough. Too be independent. Too function. Too be responsible. Too face my fears. Too socialize. Too have positive and achievable life giving goals.
Essentially without support from the system. Christ knows where i be.
This is all an act of God. The Father. The Son. And The Holy Spirit.
The tribe of Joseph had their ways about them. And knew how to turn bad into good. Amen.
Eude

My alter ego is my number one fan. He always cheers me on. No matter how bad it gets.

Re: Happiness
Putting myself in the minds of other people. Too express compassion to another being. And it is all based around me. That really trips me out that one hey. I don't need their compassion.

Re: Happiness
When i cry out too God. And say. "God why have You done this too me? " and then say "answer me!" And do it loud enough. Hoping the neighbours may hear. Then have a good laugh to myself. How would you describe this behaviour?

Re: Happiness
@eudemonismI don't think any two people deal with their mental illness in the same way, even though they might be diagnosed with the same mental illness. If what you are doing is working for you, and it is not harming you in any way, then I would say go for it. If it is helping you deal with your MI and function daily better, than do not stop what you are doing. Continue as you are. I am happy for you that you have got the support you deserve.

Re: Happiness
@eudemonismI am not sure how I would describe this behaviour. Perhaps you are just wanting to be heard, perhaps that it what you need from these forums. Being heard by anyone is such an important part of coping with our MI

Re: Happiness
@Former-Member yea i understand what you are saying. I do quite a bit of verbal stuff. With only myself and God in the room. Why? You may ask. It is because they are the forces which understand me the best. And they have taught me about The Father. The Son. And The Holy Spirit. Can you feel what i mean? Joy and Happiness too you...
