I need support this week big time!

I need support this week big time!

As many of you knoe I have SH issues and I've been hiding it for quite some time. My husband felt the scars this morning so now he knows. He doesn't know the full extent though.

His initial reaction was amazing and so caring. But I feel incredibly anxious.

He was bery good to me about it but now I'm exposed and feeling very vulnerable. Roght when it was getting a little better....

Oh I think getting to Thursday to see my psychiatrist will be a very very long wait 😞

Yes, I think my kids are experts at dealing with MI. My oldest 16yo son os so kind and a natural at recognising when I need a little quiet. And music is a great relief.

Kids can be very loving.

I try and make it clear that I notice when my son is caring. Tonight he made ravioli again. He is learning to take up responsibility. It doesnt hurt them to be responsible and kind.

He made a note to himself to "be more kind". My heart just melted when I read that.

How many children do you have?

I have 3 wonderful children. They all do so well at school and I am so glad for them.

It helps that they are settled in school .. it gives them more opportunities for the future. Our kids are our lives, but we also need to do self care as well.

WHat kind of music do you like?

I am not sure what to write to keep conversation going ...sorry I dont want to trigger or upset you.

Yes, about this time a year ago I started having some hallucinations and depression. I was irritable and irrational. I went to see a psychologist who treated me with EMDR for Complex PTSD

I became retraumstised from the EMDR. But in all honesty I was most likely just at the stage in my life where I could cope with dealing with trauma.

I kind of get what you mean. For a long time I used to say that "I couldnt afford to get a cold". When I finally started to get colds again after the kids were in high school my body was going back to normal.

EMDR was recommended for me, but I didnt have spare money at the time. It probably opened up pain in an undifferentiated way ... ie that you couldnt relate the feeling to particular incident and make sense of it. Does your psychiatrist hep you put together your personal jigsaw ... of life ... complex PTSD ... usully means that there are many events to process ...

Re: I need support this week big time!

The psychologist went in gung ho, he wasn't even officially trained in EMDR. It was just too much, but then again it may have been inevitable. My psychiatrist is great and tries incredibly hard to make me feel confident and suppoted without traumatizing me even if I waste a whole session on small talk because I can't cope with the tough things.

Re: I need support this week big time!

You are lucky that he acknowledges that you SH mine sees it and ignores it, doesn't want to get involved in my trauma
