I need support this week big time!

I need support this week big time!

As many of you knoe I have SH issues and I've been hiding it for quite some time. My husband felt the scars this morning so now he knows. He doesn't know the full extent though.

His initial reaction was amazing and so caring. But I feel incredibly anxious.

He was bery good to me about it but now I'm exposed and feeling very vulnerable. Roght when it was getting a little better....

Oh I think getting to Thursday to see my psychiatrist will be a very very long wait 😞

Great stuff @Angel333, not only for the time without SH but being able to consider reaching out for support before it gets to much for you. It's just so good that you seem to be able to see where you are right now & appreciate the progress you are making. And the desire to keep it heading the right forward.

Take care.

Hello @Angels333

Glad you are finding your determination. It can become your anchor when times are low. You might be low for all sorts of reasons that life dishes up. Stay in good keeping with yourself. You dont deserve punishment and you dont need the extra stimulation to drown out the voices.

I am glad @Drac0 and @BlueBay have been there for you. Once you start to find other ways of coping it helps.

There were many years in my life when I just lived for my next counselling session. I can get though this as its only to next week or the next couple days ...it was important to have a human person to talk to and just be me that mattered.

Yes. I feel like this is me right now. So much so that I will definitely surprise my Dr if I make the week through

One week will be great. Its just a nice number easy to remember.

It is liking breaking a habit. Finding different ways of coping and programming your self to respond to feelings with better outcomes ... listening to music .. curling up reading a book .... Yes I went to bed and I went back to biting my nails .. and in some ways I dont want to be hassled about that ... if you only knew the other habits i have had ... its not laziness it is just a way to calm myself down ...

Do you have a few strategies you can try @Angels333 things that are practical in your home environment.

Yes, I read The Martian the other day. There's no way I could have read anything 1 month ago!

Books can be great but not all the time. The other day I was in the train with my son .. and he was curious why I wasnt reading ... I go through on and off reading periods ... Sometimes I just like hearing the rumble and looking out the window or people watching ... and talking to them if the mood is right. Slowly I am getting better at sensing that in others.

Yes, I think my kids are experts at dealing with MI. My oldest 16yo son os so kind and a natural at recognising when I need a little quiet.
