Walking group

Walking group

I was talking with @Zoe7@Shaz51@Faith-and-Hope last night about walking. So we decided to set a mini goal and start walk.

Who would like to join us? 😊

I’ve decided to walk three times this week for 30 mins.

Re: Walking group

As soon as I am back at work with my own class again I will be able to set it up @TAB - that may not be until next year though - hoping I can get it sorted before that but the process is taking time.

Re: Walking group

My teacher in grade4 picked up that I was unco beyond @Zoe7 she brought in tennis balls and would throw them at/to me in class lol. She was special to me in lots of ways. Still think of her sometimes.

Re: Walking group

You aren't being pushy @TAB - not at all. There are a lot of things I can't do around the house right now because so much of my once spare room and hallway is taken up with school things stacked in them - I cannot wait until I can take it all back to work and get my house back.

That teacher sounds like you got on really well - it is often those kind of things that we not only remember but are grateful for. Maybe all that extra tennis ball throwing actually helped you in the longrun.

Re: Walking group

I was never a sport person, @Zoe7 always got picked last.

Maybe that's partly why i got social anxiety, IT wasn't until my 30's that i played netball was the bottom team but I just did it for fun until it affected my knees, have oestoropis in them now, then got melanoma cancer in left leg which left it numb so can't walk a lot anymore, I have the power fit which is really good as you just stand on it and it vibrates your whole body and it has 3 setting for a stroll, walking and then jogging, so it's like walking.

Re: Walking group

Hmm not sure re ball throwing but she did come to my defence in face of what was seen as humiliation .. like I would care , just retreat yet again maybe .. ok. We had Morning Talk. We had to be ready to give a talk on current affairs guess. I got picked and declined, offering that my news was now ‘stale’ .. class burst into laughter she had to explain .. think by 2 years after that had become totally paranoid and shunned. People didn’t know how to take me. Anyway . When got to year 8 after competing with *ickhead teacher and der .. losing I just studied and fought . ok cos had practice exams due to new principal and got to do German my fathers native tongue. Mum even went to night classes. Good old Herma re principal then moved towns/schools yr 9 and everyone either wanted to beat me up or do overtly sex routine. I developed a strategy and sought out new friends. It worked. Mostly. Sorry for turning unco thing into teacher school thing @Zoe7

Re: Walking group

I have often wondered if those powerfits worked @saturnzoon so good to get some feedback on it

It certainly does make it harder when you have physical conditions that restrict your movements. I had post viral fatigue for a long time and lost all of my muscle tone - it has been a very long road back to be able to do any exercise at all.
