My life partner has Bipolar ii

My life partner has Bipolar ii

I unapologetically care for my husband who after a long mental health crisis has been diagnosed with Bipolar ii + more.

It is a tough gig at times but I believe we can live well in spite of his diagnosis.

I understand that not all relationships can survive a diagnosis and this is no criticism or judgement on anyone but in this thread I would love to give to and receive encouragement from others who hold the same value I have, that is that I voluntarily chose to remain in union with my husband to the exclusion of others and to ride out the bumps of his mental illness.

Dubious humour is guaranteed.

Thankfully Mr Darcy has been transferred to our local hospital and at present plan is that when infection has been adequately treated chemo will be done close to home ahead of any radiation therapy which would entail a visit to the big smoke.

Trying to keep our pup with his fracture quiet is hard work.

We don't know @Shaz51 did not hear or see anything - the hounds were playing outside one evening and when I went to check on them the little fellow was limping and I noticed his little hock joint was starting to swell. The next morning I took him to the vet and had to leave him there for xrays as we were due to leave for the big smoke as Mr Darcy had appts to go to. The vet rang me with the news and they kindly kept him in hospital until the weekend when Sis & I drove down to pick him up. Fortunately it is a non weight bearing surface but his leg is in a splint requiring weekly checks and I need to keep him from racing around.

Re: My life partner has Bipolar ii

I don't know if it is Divine intervention or not, but each time I have tried to contact Mr Darcy's case worker I have not been able to get through and he has not returned my call.

Ongoing antibiotic treatment which may be necessary to treat his current infection is limited by interactions with his psych meds and this information needs to be passed onto the pdoc as well as asking for more information in relation to benefit vs risk of a medication on offer which at present Mr Darcy said he "would not touch with a barge pole".
