Something’s not right

woah it's 2016

woah it's 2016

Having a massive overload of things to organise! moving into new house next week, so organising removals and stuff (yay its part of my new job contract!), electricity and gas, phone etc. Plus have work things to organise and need to go in and do. Just realised my youngest's old child care is still debiting my account since end of nov when he finished (even though i emailed them in Dec to say it was happening!). plus need to organise what feels like a thousand other things healthcare wise for my son before he starts school so he has the support he needs. yikes... was going so well until i started writing down a list of things that i need to organise and got the dates for moving today.

Is it just me or do other people just find all of this to be overwhelming? And yet, in my job, i can organise and handle things ok... just in my own life! Although i do not speak on the phone, i find it incredibly hard to speak on the phone, unless i absolutely have to. so a lot of these things are probably more overwhelming because some of it just has to be done over the phone.

Breathe!! and crochet to calm down i think!

Thanks @Terry - unfortunately none of the criminal side is up to me because it's run by the department of public prosecutions. The victim gets no say in it at all...
I'm lucky as all of my mental health team are really fighting for me in regards to the family court stuff. My psychiatrist has said he thinks I'm ready for work and will write a letter of support for court. The family court have ordered that I get an independent evaluation (which I'm terrified of) but at the same time I don't think anything is going to show up that they don't already know (my ex got all of my medical notes/files from birth till the criminal trial - yet the prosecutors aren't allowed to give me access to any information they have!!) so it's probably in my best interests to do it show that I have nothing to hide and am actively working on the issues I do have. The criminal court process actually puts the victim on trial not the criminal.... Then in the case of domestic violence the perpetrators can then use the trial (even if they are found guilty) to their benefit in family court... So while he can say oh she came from a home of abuse and neglect and was caught smoking green stuff at 14 and blah blah blah it's so frustrating that all I can do is try to defend myself on crap that has nothing to do with who I am now or my parenting abilities... Not that I am the perfect parent (no such thing) but I'm not in danger of losing my temper in a way that could hurt them.
Sorry that's a bit of a rant.. Thanks for replying @Terry

@Former-Member No worries. Anyone, the law or otherwise, who holds a mental illness against a person is doing the wrong thing. The law is biased towards men worldwide and quite heavily so in Australia. Don't talk about the case here or 'anywhere else' is my advice re prejudicing the case (nb. you are probably going to need to talk it out somewhere, somehow with someone, at least a bit). ps. i'm glad all your support people seem to actually being supportive. i will, despite being arrogant, pray for you and i'm sure we will all support you anyway we can. be careful what you say at this forum or anywhere else x 😞 🙂

Re: woah it's 2016

When I was obsessing over bail law (last Christmas), I found an article which reckoned that victims' feelings have been given too much sway of late, and that there is a push to move it back to actual harms, to preserve the 'golden thread' of innocent until proven guilty etc etc etc. ( http://search.informit.com.au/documentSummary;dn=166154335125100;res=IELAPA - might be accessible through your library) I wonder if a perception that mental illness is 'just feelings' could be at play here?
