Something’s not right

woah it's 2016

woah it's 2016

Having a massive overload of things to organise! moving into new house next week, so organising removals and stuff (yay its part of my new job contract!), electricity and gas, phone etc. Plus have work things to organise and need to go in and do. Just realised my youngest's old child care is still debiting my account since end of nov when he finished (even though i emailed them in Dec to say it was happening!). plus need to organise what feels like a thousand other things healthcare wise for my son before he starts school so he has the support he needs. yikes... was going so well until i started writing down a list of things that i need to organise and got the dates for moving today.

Is it just me or do other people just find all of this to be overwhelming? And yet, in my job, i can organise and handle things ok... just in my own life! Although i do not speak on the phone, i find it incredibly hard to speak on the phone, unless i absolutely have to. so a lot of these things are probably more overwhelming because some of it just has to be done over the phone.

Breathe!! and crochet to calm down i think!

Oh my gosh! I love 4/5! Still young enough to be innocent, but old enough to have some fun with!

So much coming up - so excited for you!

Hi all - so for what my ex did to me he gets a $1000 fine... That's it - no behaviour bond or suspended sentence. Judge said he thinks he will lose his employment but that hasn't even happened. An article in a paper stated the judge Said there was no real evidence of harm from his actions. I'm bewildered and feel like I actually don't matter at all. He got no orders for treatment or counselling at all.

@Former-Member i know you might hate me for saying this but hand it over to the divine. you DO matter. make sure you have some support at the moment, someone to talk to, or us online, is my advice. You can maybe write about what you've been through for a women's magazine or blog online about it at a women's webstie, or join a support group. i've got to do some work. we all love ya, lisaj. make sure you keep connected when you need to be x

Oh no, that's horrible! 😞 Will it have any impact on custody arrangements? You matter, lisajane.

Re: woah it's 2016

Hi @CannonSalt yes it will probably have the effect on family court that it's not been a serious offence so he will be able to get more time/access and rights to make decisions.
@Terry I'm not sure how I sit with all the "God" stuff. I'm not religious and not really sure what I believe but respectfully I'm going to ask you not to give me advice that is around religion. But I thank you for the suggestion to write about it - I'm seeking some legal advice on that as I'm bound by a family court order not to discuss the case in public or talk to my children about anything to do with the criminal proceedings.
There's no support groups to join here but I've had a visit from my mental health worker so that helped. I'm just feeling really flat. Three days of absolute hell in witness stand was not worth it

Re: woah it's 2016

So he gets hit with a fine for what he did, but he could be rewarded with extra time and access? what the... 😞

Re: woah it's 2016

Oh I am so sorry to read that outcome @lisjane what a pathetic sentence.
Our law system truly needs a shake up. It must be so disheartening for you and I'm not sure any words we can say will help you feel much better right now. My thoughts are with you and I'll be around for a few hours if you feel like a chat at all ((hugs))

Re: woah it's 2016

@Former-Member Lisajane, there are two bits of information that i can contribute that MIGHT help you and your family (it's up to you and your lawyer to decide) - firstly, the UN has called on all forced psychiatry to be banned (it did this is october 2015) so you are labouring with an unfair oppressive system hanging over you, but they may try to actually use this against you in court. the other thing is that amnesty international has found that conviction rates for crimes of all types against women are unacceptably low in australia (i would say be careful 'though if you and/or your lawyer try to argue that the courts have unacceptable bias against women). the other thing is can you appeal the decision that you have just been through and/or can you write a 'victim impact' statement about how your husband's attacks on you affected you and/or your children? i don't know much about the law but these things might help you. another idea is to forgive your husband as soon as you can and let him know the impact his behaviour is having on your children and see if you can both find a way to work together in the children's best interest. the latter idea is probably the best. make sure you take care of you, too.
