Another year done, so what's next?

Another year done, so what's next?

I'm not one for New Year's resolution, but when the year ends I do like to take a moment to pause to reflect over the past year, and to think about what my hopes are for the next year.

For me, this achievement this year was being able to do yoga consistently for one year. I started it, hoping that I would learn a bit about discipline, and one year later, I'm pleased to say that, thanks to an amazing teacher, I've learned about devotion, and practice several times a week.

In 2016, I'm hoping to continue with yoga, and applying it's lesson to everyday life - being calm in the face of adversity, laughing at myself, and being kind to myself and others.

What about you? What are your highlights and achievements of 2015 and their hopes for 2016?

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

Hi PeppyPatti,

I'm ok, I forgot my lunchtime medication and I'm feeling a bit nauseous. I have been sucking on frozen fruit juice ice blocks. But the craving to eat is incredible to fight. I'm a bit demoralised. I wish I could offer support to others but I'm just not in the headspace. I teach swimming and have been working all week, The medicine really bombs me out and I find work tough. I have been enrolled at uni so many times and I always end up dropping out. My UAI is quite good. I'm hoping just to get the diploma this year. Start smaller! The problem is that the interview date is next week and we are going to visit Greg's family and his mum has cancer so the trip to visit is very crucial. So I phoned the tafe and maybe I'll just do a midyear enrolment. I feel like I have been in a total fog for a year now. I've been so unwell. I just can't see a quick return to normal happening.

Dear @Angels333

I wrote to @Shaz51 about this wonderful site that helps you with your goals....it's called S.M.A.R.T

It looks really good..I just bought a printer...Target has printers on sale in Fremantle for 35......

so Ille be printing it out this week. I also need some .....time and space to get my goals going. Dont worry about hoiw many times that you are going about University or TAfe or anything. You have the rest of your life to do it. I have a degree that I will never finish....because theres no space and honestly.....my choises have changed.

But then, I really want to check out S.M.A,R.T

How are you ??

Hi @CherryBomb, it is wonderful to hear that you achieved you goal last year. I tried something different, work to hard at it and ended up in isolation again for another three months. But I am back in the real world again hoping I don't make the same mistakes again.

loopy.

@Loopy Hi Loopy - my advice is to give yourself another name - it's not good to identify with stigma. What about calling yourself 'Lippy'?

yay! Storm the bastille! ps. maybe I should call myself 'Lippy'(?) - i've got too many opinions 😞

yay! Storm the bastille! God bless 🙂

YAY!! Hi @Loopy ssooo great to see you back 🙂

I really like your profile pic/avatar by the way!

Just a note for everyone: this thread has gone quite off topic. If you have a topic to discuss that isn't in relation to the first post, please start a new discussion.

This isn't just so the conversation remains relevant, but if you start a new post about a new topic, you're more likely to get more responses, than just adding it to this discussion.

Thanks!

Re: Another year done, so what's next?

Ha! I am feeling really positive about 2016 - I am gong to study and go out to lunch and do good works! yay! i would really like to get a bona fide volunteer job in a proper workplace to but i'm so darned eccentric and everyone everywhere lets me know it, even in volunteer jobs. you'd think there was a law passed against 'being different'. never mind.

i am getting into my ikebana this year and finishing my books (sooner or later, i hope). god bless 🙂
