Hey @Wanderer Lovely to get an update from you and how you are going. It will be good to be finally settled in the new house and as you said - put some things behind you. Mving is such a stressful time so you seem to be doing really well with it all. 3 steps forward and one back is still great progress. We all have those steps back at time so to feel like you are taking many forward as well is great.
I can imagine your toe was quite painful when you hurt it - the perils of not really the right shoes hey! I would live in my thongs if I could (prefer bare feet but need some kind of footwear outside the house).
Grat that you had a talk with yor daughter and that sorted some things out - good for both you and her to be able to be open with things and leave those lines of communication open.
Hope your shower was relaxing and you are now snuggled up in bed. I am not fr off doing the same.
Keep up the good work - seems like despite everything you are kicking goals and that is important.

@Wanderer I can't believe it has been over a year since you packed the house - that time has flown
It is never easy having to do that then move and unpack things in the new place too. My sister is presently doing the same but at the same time doing touch ups on the house and fixing a few things that need to be done before they put it on the market. They are moving what they can to the new house but all the furniture and a few things for decorstive purposes are staying for now.
I much prefer riding than walking too - have a basket for Toby on the front of the bike but it needs a new piece attached before I can take him in it again. I will have to make it myself but don't have the materials on hold so will have to go shopping - it is not a priority though so it can wait. I wont be riding much anyway when my sister moves - presently she is close enough to do that but is going another half an hour away.
I am not much into cars at all but like seeing the older cars restored - they were built to last in those days. I would love an MG convertible myself ...in rcing car green ![]()

Just caught a little up on your thread.
I can relate a lot to your descriptions of your feelings. I guess that is the complex ptsd. We are all a little bit the same and little bit different.
Wishing you the best in your new home and life ....
I know some dairy farmers who moved to town and sing in one of my choirs. They enjoy it and going out as a couple after all their years together on the farm.
Take Care

haha your father and I would get on well then @Wanderer 😁👍
I like the old Fords but would love a Kombie I could pack up with Toby and travel around in. While I still have y precious Cat that is not an option but maybe one day. My sister's partner has restored a few Kombies and sold then - they certainly are well sought after.
Tobes doesn't have a bike helmet but does have a little canopy over the top to keep the sun off - he is too heavy to sit in the basket I have though as I got it when he was a puppy ...but once I make a new part to attach it to the handle bars it will be strong enough again to hold him.
Luckily my sister is on holidays too at the moment so she has time to do things but it also means she will not have any down time before she goes back to work - as well as the stress of selling the house and starting at a new workplace - so I am a bit worried about her. I am helping as much as I can but need to also need to do things myself as well as look after myself - so a balance between all that for me too.
