So sorry to read you are having a rough night @The-red-centaur. I know it is scary and worrisome that emergency services have been called. The best thing you can do is remain as calm as possible right now. The ambulance officers will let you know if you need to be taken to hospital or night. The butterfly foundation (as with any service) has a duty of care to contact the appropriate service if they think you (or someone else) is in danger of harm. Be honest with ambulance staff about how you are feeling though, if you are at risk of hurting yourself, it is important to let them know.

But hospital was practically pointless. They just did a blood test and told me to eat healthily because my ed is damaging my body.
They said the chest pain was acid reflux and the dizziness caused by dehydration. They gave me a hydrolite icy pole then sent me home at 5am.

I'm sorry to hear hospital was practically pointless. Hearing you say that they told you to eat healthily reminds me of times when the advice/support I have been given was to "just eat" when I've really struggled to do that. It felt so unhelpful. To me it is kind of like hearing " you need to get over it" and "just forget about it" and all the other things people who don't understand what it's like might say to people who are struggling.
Do you find it helpful to speak with the Butterfly Foundation?
I hope the chest pain and dizziness ease up for you soon. That sounds really uncomfortable.

Hi @The-red-centaur. That would have been so scary. I'm d...
They
- turn you into a pin cushion
- tell you its a false alarm (in ya head)
- go home and xhange your lifestyle...
- if ya really lucky - they might refer you to community based support services
Guess we have to see ER as a place where they asses if your life is in immediate threat. Notjing else.
I thi k phone services have a 'duty of care' to not disengage you in the middle of what could be a crisis. In a way they were just bei g efficient, but i can understand what happened could cause you to hesitate before ringing again. But please don't hesitate, take an antacid first and ring anyway. Its all trial & Error half the time, go with the good days. Hang in there ❤❤❤

I've only spoken to butterfly foundation a few times. It's really hard for me to talk about my bulimia, I've had so many negative responses to it that I give up. And I don't feel ready for recovery, that just seems too hard.
@Former-Member I had a reasonably sleep thanks
@Former-Member I was terrified to tell them Dr why I was there. I don't want to admit my bulimia, like I'm too fat to have an ED. And in regards to calling butterfly foundation again- Idk.

Hey @The-red-centaur, how are things going for you now? I'm sorry I got the wrong impression that you were at risk of harming yourself, not physically unwell. I hope your acid reflux and dehydration has passed now.
I remember when I was first put on antipsychotics, I was put on on which has a side effect of extreme insatiable hunger. It was decided by my treating team to prescribe that one because I wasn't really eating much at the time. I was told that it would make me "eat the horse and chase the jockey". I still have lifelong health concerns relating to that decision.

Today things have been complicated. I don't think I'll ever tell anyone about the physical symptoms again.
