Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Struggling atm. Just want to chat, distract my mind. Mum has depression, recently discharged from mental health clinic. I can see she's not well but she internalises. We are usually so close but she just wants to be on her own, doesn't want to engage in much conversation. Perhaps I'm feeling sorry for myself as I miss our relationship. I can see that my depression and anxiety is increasing, which is making it harder to cope. Feeling alone tonight.

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

That's good @Bella1978. So you put aside too much and now have some spare cash to play with. So nice to have spare money when you live on a tight budget.
Does your mum ever get manic or hyper manic? Just wondering if the volume of goods could have to do with that. Sorry I can't remember her MI diagnosis.
What's your plans for tomorrow? A movie? Which one?
I'm off to the movies tomorrow. My sister got mum tickets to a special movie festival in a town about an hour away from here. Supposedly I said I'd go too. Can't remember that conversation. Lol. So that's what I'm doing tomorrow. Taking mum to my sisters and then she will drive us to this festival.
I so don't want to go. I'm tired. Headache. Chest pain. And now I'm super hypersensitive to fragrances and chemicals. And I know most people will put on their perfumes and hairspray. Yuk. I hope my sister doesn't expect me to pay for my own ticket - as I'm skint. And I bought mum her own mothers day gifts.
Glad your uncle visited his sister today. Does she enjoy his visits? They are close - yes?
Think I'll be going to sleep soon.

@utopia

Yeah, I ended up putting aside too much. Im usually pretty good with all that kind of stuff, who knows what I was thinking the day I did it but omg I made a good shambles of it lol!

I know what you mean about the hypermania or mania … mum has always been one to buy things in excess, especially when it comes to food, etc but when it comes to spending for herself, she has never been big on that. There have been many occasions when Ive had to encourage her to buy herself something for herself, sometimes ive just ended up buying it for her lol. Who knows, maybe she’s just making it up for her now! her lucky number atm is six … buy 6 pairs of pj’s , six pairs of pants, lol. She has been diagnosed with depression and anxiety.

Ah yes, so my plans for tomorrow, going for a walk with my friend in the morning. We were going to go to rspca million paws walk but instead im gonna go to her place as she wants to show me a unit that she just put an offer on this evening – very exciting! And then we will go for a walk close to where she lives. Will go and visit mum early arvo and then go to the movies. Im thinking of seeing the one with Melissa mccarthy – life of the party. Mindless comedies are good for me atm.

Oooh awesome, I love movie festivals – what type of festival is it? I sometimes go to the Italian film festival (being Italian myself!) but have also seen French movies – I sound so worldly, hey? Im not – far from it! haha

Aaaw poor luv, you don’t even remember u said you were going to go. Hopefully it is a nice day for you and your sister and mum. Do you have a good relationship with your sister? Is she older or younger? Does she live far? So nosey I am 😊 actually, I was just reading on in your message – do you think you will feel up to it? you don’t sound good sweets, and you may actually be better off resting. Im sure they would understand especially as you just spent all night in hospital last night! You got chest pains atm? ☹ actually, the more I read your message, I don’t think you should go tomorrow. Especially with all the fragrances and chemicals – I don’t think youre going to enjoy yourself.

Yeah, my mum loves her little brother – they are very close. And mum is very protective of him – no one can say a bad thing about my uncle! Apart from me, he’s actually the only relative she wants to see while she is in hospital. He sees mum twice a week which is good. I can see he is hurting seeing mum unwell. He tries to hide it but I did notice on Tuesday he was struggling seeing mum the way she was as she was not in a good way, and he hadn’t seen mum like that before. They are only 3 years apart.

I just had some custard and mini choc chip cookies – yummy! Now im sitting here trying to decide what to do next!

I wonder if you are sleeping … hmmmm … you could be sleeping. I wouldn’t be surprised if you were. I would be very sleepy if I was you. your anxiety okay this evening?

x

I'm now at this little cinema in a town with a population under 50 people. Beautiful old art deco building - but no heating! I'm cold.
@Bella1978.
My sister is 4 years younger. No we don't get along. Chalk and cheese. So very different. If I say blue - she says green. So we clash a lot. But so far - so good.
6 of everything. I wonder if that's her new lucky or favorite number. 6 pairs of pajamas. That's a lot. Mania isn't associated with major depression, but with other diagnosis. Although she might be like me and just have periods of being excited.
The hospital psychiatrist - how is she going with your mums meds?
I love seeing properties. I love real estate. That's where I'm a real sticky beak.
I hope you like her Unit and I hope her iffer gets accepted. Wow, wouldn't that be good. Some good news to celebrate.
Enjoy your movie.
we are seeing Finding your feet. Starts in 3 minutes.
bye for now

@utopia

Hey luv, how are you?

How was the movie? I love the old style cinemas … gees, they could have turned on the heating for you though! Did your mum enjoy herself?

Im so tired today. I went for a walk, had my routine blood test, did some domestics but since then haven’t wanted to do anything, so have just been hibernating in my bedroom. Just needed some downtime. I saw mum yesterday, that was a bit exhausting. She’s always sending me to the shops, even when I just go to visit her she wants me to go there and then. She wanted some biscuits yesterday, I ended up going for her but I think I need to stop doing it. its starting to annoy me – im going there to visit her, but im starting to feel she only wants me there to give me shopping lists. I need to try and put in boundaries though. She was also in a foul mood with me yesterday so was drained after the visit. Ended up going to my bestie’s house and hung out there, had dinner and spent some time with her kiddies. Was a good distraction!

Ooh yeah, my friend got the property – she was sooooo excited! She got the call from the real estate agent while I was at her house. So happy for her!

how was the rest of your weekend? Did you get up to much yesterday? How about today? You been doing much?

Me sleepy …

Re: Battling MI whilst caring for someone with MI

Hello @Bella1978 big hugs to you
Its been really big days for you. Sounds like you might be burning or burnt out. Carers fatigue. Its not very nice to deal with. Have you eaten and had something to drink today?
Do you think a drive might help?
