Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

@Bunniekins thank you for your warmth and support over on the other thread. I don’t want to distract and make it about me. I did notice you were up in the middle of the night. Hope middle son settling a bit.

Re: Fragile

Received an email from exhusband who is thinking of interfering in his son’s ( also my son) familial relationship. I emailed him asking for him to please be very careful. I am concerned about how this may play out.

Maybe recent bullying experiences are meant for me to become more steely and put more iron in my soul to face the challenges ahead.

@tyme @AuntGlow and all those who have given me support and posted with me with care.

Standing with you supporting you however I can as you go through this. I hope you or someone else is able to speak some wisdom to your ex, and that for your sons sake he might listen.

Re: Fragile

Thank you @AlwaysMyself I will leave it for a day and then bring it up again with both of them.

Today I went to a concert with about 40 people in the room. I knew all the performers and half the audience. 5 of them were there yesterday. My old teacher who I had not seen over 10 years was there. Most of them also know me by name. It was a sublime concert and I am really moved by it and being part of a special community. I feel like a human being. No longer invisible. For so long I was a rejected discarded nobody. I can’t make people respect me, but I don’t have to internalise the judgment of some as a measure of my worth.

I am hoping this all sustains me for the future.

HOW TO REBUILD SELF-IDENTITY AFTER YEARS OF SHAME

I kind of figured out this myself bit by bit, after I separated from my husband 23 years ago. It is interesting to listen to a summary of my journey. Yes, he says it takes about 20 years.

Re: Fragile

Oh, gosh @Appleblossom.

This would be really overwhelming to read... I am so sorry he has suggested he will interfere in your relatonship with your son.

I think your ever-growing capacity and ability to share your thoughts, feelings, and needs will absolutely help you here. What would you like to say/do in this instance?

We're here for you, okay? 💛

Re: Fragile

Hello Apple is that Tim Fletcher? Your link actually connected to the BWV 1035 performance I listened to the other day.

I just watched https://youtu.be/VWktnnPa8Xs?si=7g1dTf3AyPZAL460

And was bowled over by his insight into shame, isolation and self-abandonment in cptsd. But cptsd still isn't recognised by psychiatrists using dsmV.

I'm so glad you were with your people today... concert sounds wonderful, people even more so. Very gratifying.
