Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

Re: Fragile

How are you feeling today @Appleblossom?

What's on your playlist for this evening? 🥰

Re: Fragile

Thank you for asking @AuntGlow

My son was animated and had lots of plans. Regarding music. We were thrashing out repertoire options. I pray we can walk the path. It could be good but it will be a long road. We have to be careful about getting too elevated, so I try for realistic encouragement and not bring hope or motivation for good directions…down. He thanked me for putting up with him. What could I say, but I am grateful for BEAUTY and grandeur of being a parent.

Anytime @Appleblossom 💛

What rep options are you exploring?

Ah yes, the nuances and beauties of being a parent! I don't have children, but I commend anyone who does. I don't know much about your son, actually. What are his plans? ☺️

@AuntGlow

He is an unusual beautiful sensitive passionate gem of a son. He surprised me yesterday by showing interest in a big music project. It could be great, occupy him well and give him a direction and anchor.

Edit. Maybe I said too much. I feel I have to be careful about his privacy.

Re: Fragile

Oh that sounds so lovely, how exciting for him and inspiring for you both - direction and an anchor, we all need this, don't we? @Appleblossom

That's okay, I get the need for privacy!

What have you been up to this weekend? 💛

yesterday at home and quiet

today busy - church and music across town

@AuntGlow

Very churned up. Triggering person in music group… feeling so bad about it…. Telling me I am wrong… in aggressive tone… the leader is aware I am struggling with her…. And said I was being polite when I described it as… psychiatric over reach… yep… that person again…. I may withdraw from group next year cos it’s too hard work on interpersonal level….we have commitments to play til Mid October.

feeling I am too screwed up to be in society

need to keep going for my son

your support helps

Re: Fragile

Oh gosh, I am so sorry that this person is a trigger point for you, especially when you are going to these spaces to connect with joy and lightness. That must feel really disheartening... what does your gut tell you to do here? @Appleblossom

You're not too screwed up at all! Interpersonal stuff is hard...

Can you tell me one thing that's working for you right now?

Always. 💛

Re: Fragile

Sorry to hear you're diminished by the wannabe important person again @Appleblossom . I wonder f you can rise to suggesting she exercise her gifts elsewhere.

I trust with your guidance your son can envisage the project as something rewarding but manageable in scale. Speaking here as someone who attempted overreach in academic projects. We have to manage 2 horses in tandem - our ambitions and our mh, and sometimes one or other will strain at the bit. As you would well know I'm sure. I used to think I'd return to some projects but have been culling old notes now long out of date.

Re: Fragile

My low key approach to running a household has been working. @AuntGlow I am not a perfectionist, but aim for steady flow of quality, good days or bad days. We had a lovely roast tonight. I got stuck into a big garden job for a few days. My son appreciates it.

I also had a great few hours last night in an online meeting with some good people. There is a sense of trust. I can get very panicky and feel unworthy a lot, so yes celebrating the wins matters.

@Dimity Thanks for being a friend. Yes, managing mental health and living a life worth living is a challenge. At least I have.things in my diary, these days. I know you have a lot going on. Praying for you.
