Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

Re: Fragile

@Appleblossom Excellent picture and sure can be the right direction to go down the garden path. It can smell and feel very lovely.

That is awesome re blind man. Does he play an instrument in the music festival? There’s a blind man I know who plays violin beautifully.

socialising and connecting with people does take a lot of energy. Honestly it is so hard to know if a person has integrity and can be an honest and loving friend. I know I had friends I did a lot for and supported for years. When I was in hospital and really sick they didn’t bother to reach out. I was really hurt and learned they just wanted my help and love but it wasn’t something they were willing to give and I knew them for over 10 years. You’re not alone in knowing how people are really on the inside. But I like how you are giving it a go because through all the effort you will find beautiful people who you can have lasting friendships with. I’m glad you already have some in your life. In recovery club we were saying how having a small but trusted circle of friends can bring meaningful interactions and create mutual support. It takes time to build a circle of friends but we will succeed because the effort is genuine. It’s like you said a work in progress. For all of us.

Re: Fragile

@Dimity Thank you. It is such a big relief. Now to get ready for the big move. New place better than this one and $70 a week cheaper!

Re: Fragile

@AuntGlow It all happened today with securing the new place. I get keys on 22 August which is a Friday. I have asked housing help to book removalist for either Monday 25 or Tuesday 26 of August. Then I have the cleaners come clean old place and hand in keys by 1 September. I’ve been packing for 2 months so I won’t have to do everything last minute. Still a bit more packing to go. Huge relief was so tough getting a place.

Hi Apple,

I hope that I am not intruding?

I Don’t have many friends either. I also have to be more discerning about what personal things I choose to share with others. I love classical music but am not educated about it. I used to listen to classical music before a uni exam to help my brain function better and stop other students from stressing me out with their last minute cramming.
