Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

Re: Fragile

Thanks @MissGremlin sometimes it's particularly hard to show self-compassion, even if showing compassion to others at the same time. It's like one of your posts on Toolbox said

Re: Fragile

@Till23 yes I understand. I struggle to show any kindness or compassion to myself but yet I'm great at showing it to others. Too many times I've been hurt and put down by others, so much so that it's become truth to me and it's how i see myself. In times like this I've found that hearing from others on here can be so helpful, to know that there are people that care and that don't want to hurt me, people that remind me that I'm worthy of that kindness and compassion. It's still hard to accept it but I'm hopeful that one day I can learn to and maybe I can see myself how others here see me.

Re: Fragile

Yes, I agree @MissGremlin I do find the forums supportive and helpful in providing another perspective, when you are finding it difficult to have any other than a negative perspective.

I have noticed you struggling with the same thing even when you are very active on forums supporting others.

I hope you are going as okay as possible given the circumstances

Thanks @Dimity

I hope you are going well with your gardening projects and within yourself

Re: Fragile

@Till23 it's always easy to show others kindness and compassion but showing the same to yourself is hard and something we have to try to learn to do when we have been through so much trauma. It's no easy task cos our brains are very much wired to that negative perspective and anything else feels like a threat so we continue in that same cycle of negative thoughts towards ourselves.

Life's hard at the moment and each day feels impossible to get through but I'm doing my best and just living minute by minute.

Have you got much planned for the long weekend?

Re: Fragile

Thanks @Till23 . Likewise.

I'm a little shaky at present but getting by.

I've been touched by your deep commitment to your responsibility as a traditional custodian. I respect that. I trust I can support that in small ways and it will influence my upcoming vote.

Re: Fragile

Yes I agree @MissGremlin

I'm sorry life is not good for you at the moment, hopefully it's part of a cycle and you'll be on your way up again soon.

Yes I'm also currently in a one foot in front of the other stage.

I have my sport on two days, but not much else.

After that though I am very busy with a bit of work, a bit of sport competition and a bit of advocacy for an upcoming cancer fundraising event.

Re: Fragile

@Till23 not sure if that's even possible for me to be on the way up.

Keep putting one foot in front of the other and know that we are here for you anytime you need us.

Sounds like a couple of things on but also a bit of resting before things get really busy. Hope it all goes well for you, you are doing amazing things for yourself and others ❤️
