Fragile

Fragile

For a while I have tried to find a thread I had started when I joined the forum that could be a "home" thread for me.

Being busy about the forum has been a coping style, where I can acknowledge all my different life experiences that had been silenced. Possibly do some good and prevent things from getting worse. Like the little boy with the finger in the dyke.

That was a blast from the past, tho that music has only been a tiny part of my life.

Yeah. I hate fake beau-tiful peep.

Liked this para from wiki about Australian pub bands.

Australian Crawl seemed to step out of a tourism poster... Spruce, lean, tanned and young... They swam, they surfed, they radiated a healthy, wholly Australian aura... If Skyhooks has personified the bodgie larrikin and Cold Chisel the hard drinking working class man, Australian Crawl turned the bronzed lifesaver into a pop idol... Crawl songs seemed to eulogise hedonism, adventure and the great outdoors for an audience that couldn't be bothered with Midnight Oil's politics.

@Appleblossom

I thought you might have gotten the reference to Bombay Rock; did you used to go there? Aussie Crawl wasn't my sort of music either - Fleetwood Mac, Bob Seger, The Eurythmics were bigger players in the soundtrack to my life back then.

I do recall watching James Reyne in that mini-series "Return to Eden" with Rebecca Gilling only because it was on the telly the year a whole lot of *cough* interesting events happened.

Re: Fragile

Yes @Jo-anneJoy I did get the Bombay Rock reference, then looked up Robert Palmer ... ah the wonders of the net. I never had much time to get into pop and rock always on the go working or studying, just fitted in with friends mainly.

Love your sense of humour. We gotta get on and get over it ...and distinguish mountains from molehills... cough cough cough....cover your mouth.

Hello @Appleblossom

On here briefly

Need to go to bed!

Going to mum's nursing home and hours drive to post christmas card in letter box on the premises!

Closest that I will get...

Will go to beach where spread Dad's ashes also..

Need to get some sleep I feel paramount..

Thinking of you always.

Do love your humour.

Have to agree re music choices there also.
