Seeking mutual support from carers

Seeking mutual support from carers

Reaching out to others who are in a caring role. I look after my mother with multiple health issues, including depression and anxiety. I feel stuck. I can see the signs that the depression has reared its head but my mum doesn't see it. I really struggle when my mum's mental health suffers. I too battle with depression and anxiety. Emotionally, I am all over the place. Hoping there are some others out there who understand what I'm going through.

@Shaz51

hey luv, how are you?

mum was a little bit more herself today. she has been really off this week. she has a uti so we'll see how she is when that clears up as that is no doubt exacerbating her symptoms atm.

how are you feeling?

hi everyone, sorry i havent been on this side of the forums of late. how is everyone? outlander thought it would be a good idea to update my thread here, and i agree it would be good. i think i have been avoiding it as i have had so much going on and i know everyone else has a lot to deal with too. as things havent been good, i didnt want to feel that all i was doing was whinging.

mum is in a mental health clinic for older people - she was transferred last tuesday. that was a very distressing day for both me and mum. mum was very upset and i was in the firing line - she thought i had put her in a nursing home and had a few choice words to throw my way. however, the staff are wonderful, very caring and welcoming. mum's UTI has cleared up as they believed the delirium was as a result of the UTI. i was hoping that after that cleared up, she would get better. her moods are still fluctuating. they havent changed her meds as they are monitoring her behaviour. im pleased they havent messed around with the meds though. so, still in limbo as to what is causing these behaviours in mum, just taking one day at a time.
