My journey

My journey

@Former-Member It's pretty hard when I do eventually open up
I remember what happened when I did prior then too a longgggg time ago. I was attacked!!! I am attacking everyone
Hence my song the other day on a music thread.

I don't expect responses and I don't feel left left out I have made it this far on my own and hid what i have been through repetively at times. It does not matter what I do when I don't talk about it I am doing something wrong when I do talk about it I am doing something wrong again

Re: My journey

I am okish - having a bit of a tough night but I have some support @Former-Member

I was a workaholic until I got sick - now I miss work even though I am not capable of doing my job - hoping to get back into it though at some stage - working on looking into a couple of mornings a week - I can't get through a whole day even at home right now so a couple of hours is all I can manage at one time.

Must only be a couple more weeks until you move too

Re: My journey

yeah i understand that. I think too much when i am not working....

Even if it's one day for you and work up grandually to more it may do you the world of good for you're sanity & mental state as hard as it is with MI.

I feel a sense of achievement knowing i got through the days when i thought i couldn't some days at work.

Pouring the energy into everything else helps me

Yep not long i have started packing lol @Zoe7

Re: My journey

It is a bit harder with teaching to work up to doing more each day - and I won't be allowed back until there is a plan in place with the principal, my pdoc and gp and the HR boss of the department @Former-Member - it isn't as easy as just doing a day here or there and see how I go - that is what would be ideal for me right now to see how I go but I know that isn't possible.

Oh you have started packing - wow that really must make you believe the new start is just around the corner. How is your girl doing? Is she 'helping' you to pack?

Re: My journey

Some days I wish I had an easier job @Former-Member - one I could leave at the door when I left work - but teaching just isn't like - there is always marking and planning and other paperwork to do. The easiest part of the day is teaching the kids - the hardest part is all the extra time we need to spend these days doing the 'admin' type of work. There is soooo much paperwork, reports, data to be entered - it becomes all consuming at times. If I didn't have my house to pay for then I am sure I would leave the job permanently but that would mean I couldn't pay my mortgage and my house is my only real safe place for me.

Re: My journey

Would you consider studying another career whilst not working? One with good salary? Enough to cover mortgage? @Zoe7

Re: My journey

I actually began teaching late @Former-Member I didn't do my degree until I was 30. Before that I completed 2 other degrees and worked in different fields. I have looked into further study but I can't afford anything that would be of interest to me or worthwhile in the longrun. I actually love my ob when I can do it - I was just talking on another thread about a very similar thing - it just seems to be all too hard in my head right now - which is a pretty clear sign that I am not well enough to work.
