Something’s not right

coming off pain killers (off the shelves in chemist)

coming off pain killers (off the shelves in chemist)

im starting this thread coz it cant just be me that is suffering from the withdrawals of being forced to stop these pain killers. im sure there has to be othere people out there that are suffering the same as me.

iv been on the pain killers since i was 14 years old and now at the age of 32 i have been forced to stop. in the end i had to take large amounts for them to do anything for me. I WAS REALLY ATTICTED TO THEM AND I STILL AM. i would take them everyday for no reason at all. just coz they were there and i could take them and then i always needed more and more.

my body is suffering now . i have major body ache that i cant control. i have runny nose. im just suffering badly.

if anyone has been on the real drugs in there life time ......it like that . that come down. iv been on the heavy drugs back in the days and i know how it was like coming down of a drug and but this is even worse.

when you come off a hard drug, you have other drugs to help you come down a bit easier. but with this pain killer . you have nothing to replace it with. nothing. and thats what makes it so hard.

now i have other meds that i can take extra of......but that will fk up my already mental health.

in the mean time i have been trying to find my other meds/drugs to compensate with what i am going through. and i will continue to do that until i go to the dr and get some more.

im so aditted to it that i dont think that i can stop. i know the doc will give me more. without no questions.

so if there is anyone else going through the same thing please comment . or if you have any hint or tips to get through this i would be very gratefull. thanks bubbles

Hi @Queenie

I am so sorry that this has happened to your wife - not good at all

And the drug that has caused the liver-damage is still available OTC which is really odd - people will go on taking that one

I'm glad she has a patch though - but maybe that is not really helping as well as possible because of the extra pain - slow release can take a long time to kick-in - and I am glad she is seeing a pain specialist team

But they do vary - if you are concerned enough then see them with your wife or maybe see a different pain specialist

I do understand and I wish you both the best

Hi @Owlunar and @Queenie

@Queenie im sorry that your mrs is going through tbis as well. It is hard. I know first hand how hard i t is. I use to go to every chemist to get some. And i would waist so much money on them.

@Owlunar is wish i wasnt addicted to them. Im already a recovering alcoholic and now i ha e to come off these. Its going to be hard. I know that. I dont know whats harder ... coming of alcohol or pain killers.
See i just gone from one to the other. I never use to take so much pain killers when i was dri nking but now that i dont drink thats ill iv got left.
