Oh Karen, i am so sorry you are in such a bad way, please call lifeline or 1800 RESPECT if you can't hold safety.
Karen, please answer these questions for me:
What are your warning signs you are becomming distressed?
what reasons do you have to live?
How do you keep your environment safe?
What things can you do by yourself to keep safe?
Do you connet with people or places?
Friends and family you can talk to?
Do you have professional support?
Karen please answer these questions, it will help distract and help SANE moderators create a safety plan for you.
Karen, i hope even though these memories are horrible, that is your past, you will never again have to experiance what you did, not all men are like your husband and you have a bright future ahead of you.
Karen, i am here for you, just reach out and take my hand, i just want to hug you and tell you everything will be alright.
Karen, you are in the present with me, just keep talking to me, i know it is difficult but you really need to distract. you have many reasons to live now. your house, the girls and me.
Please don't appologise, i knew today would be really tough on you.

Karen, try to imagine your head on my chest, listen to my heart beat and slow your breathing down, let the soothing beat help you calm, deep breaths in and out, focus on one of your girls paintings, maybe have a nice shower and try to wash the day away, you need to bring yourself back to the present, i am here to help you Karen, just reach out to me. 🙂
hugs
Jacques

Hi Karen, I'm so sorry to hear that you're distressed tonight. I know that appointments with new psychs can trigger your worst and most vulnerable times. It's digging up the painful past and reliving those emotions. The memories and feelings will settle down again. They did last time and they will again.
I'm emailing you with your safety plan so we can work out how you can stay safe tonight.

Hi @hiddenite Sorry you had a difficult day with your new psychologist... i hope that now that you have gotten that part out ofthe way that your next appt will be better.
Keep using those strategies that you've used inthe past to help ground you back to th epresent. Move your body, go for a walk or just around the room. Eat something cold and feel it.
hope you are ok,
LJ
