Hi @hiddenite
It was good to hear from you again and I gather from your post that you are in IPU at the moment. I'm sorry to read that you feel ignored and not cared for at a time when you probably feel very vulnerable.
I admire your honesty in telling nursing staff that you cannot hold your own safety. I would have expected them to actively check in on you. It's good that you are utilising distracting activities. I think it's reasonable for you to tell the staff if you would like them to verbally check on you. Some clients get upset if their clinicians are asking "are you suicidal etc" every hour. But a simple "how are you doing Lisa?" would seem reasonable.
Ask for what you need and take care,
Frog

Hi @hiddenite
Sorry for getting your name wrong in my last post - It's been a busy day and my brain is not working so well 🙂
It must be very unsettling that your mental health clinicians are changing a fair bit, not great. I hope you have a case manager or key clinician who is working with you. Many people find they do the rounds of treatment and Drs etc until they stabilise and find the right combo of actions /meds that help them progress to better health.
It's important to work with the MH services as much as possible and give them feedback when you find things unhelpful or upsetting. Keep in touch with us at Sane and also your crisis support contacts if you find yourself getting shaky.
Best wishes,
Frog
