Would you consider calling Lifeline?
If you're exhausted perhaps some of the other things you have listed here before
- watching a movie with the kids
- a hot shower
- grounding techniques
You're welcome to post here, but if you're feeling distressed, please make sure you take care of yourself and contact one of the crisis services.
Thinking of you

Hi @NikNik,
I am sorry too, it was just so horrible to see animals being hurt, on a monthly basis here the men go hunting, get pigs and piggletts and put them in their back yards with a pack of hunting dogs to allow them to tear them apart alive, while they sit around a fire drinking and laughing, the poor little things squeel for almost an hour before the dogs finish them off, we only have police in my town from 9am to 5pm, so they are no help, i just have to lay in bed and listen.
Maybe it is just my town, maybe it is juast the only place that is horrible, but i just struggle with how people are hear, they really scare me.
I am safe.
Sorry again for alarming you, it is just getting to me, that is all.

Hi My angel,
Yes it was horrible, the poor little things are still in their house, too frightened to come out, one of them is limping, i am so sad and frustrated that i was unable to do anything.
I know what you mean with the girls, i would do anything to make sure mum never got hurt, Karen that is why it is so important you are around for the girls, no one will care for them like you do, even if you could not stand up to people it is still you who will help guide them through life, you will be able to teach them to avoid the mistakes you made, help them to live a happy life.
Karen i am here for you if you need a shoulder or an old friend to talk to.
I am really worried about you Karen, that little spark i saw your last night in the MHU was the real you, the beautiful, bubbly, funny, happy woman i want to see, that everyone should see.
Karen what are you struggling with? maybe we could talk it through.
Big hugs my friend

Thanks @Jacques for responding. I appreciate that.
You don't have to apologise for being upset - that would be *very* distressing. I would be for me too.
I just want to ensure you're both connecting in with the appropriate supports if you're distressed.
There are very cruel people in this world, but for every bad thing I see, I see wonderful things. So I have hope.
It doesn't make it easier though when you're faced with that.
Just terrible ![]()

Hi my angel,
I know how tough the flashbacks can be, i get them too, but i want to tell you over time they do lessen in intencity, their visual intencity lessens over time.
Karen no one can tell you their is no way to treat this, their may be no treatment now, but research into mental health is comming along in leaps and bounds, their may not be a treatment today, or tomorrow, but one day their will be one, we just need to hold on.
Karen you and i need to hold on to the ones we love, you need to fight for you, your daughters and for me, and i need to fight on for mum and you. we may lose some battles, but ultimately we will win the war.
Karen, the strength nd courage you show me every day is something i take strength from, you are such an amazing woman, what you have been through and what you are going through.

Karen do you have something you can cuddle while you sleep, a teddy or a pillow or something to make you feel safe? i know it sounds silly but sometimes it is just nice to hold something.
Karen i will always support you, please remember that research into PTSD anxiety and depression is always ongoing, their will be new treatments and advances in medication. please Karen, never lose faith that things will get better one day, no ne knows what the future hold.
Oh Karen, it is just the town i live in, i just don't like seeing animals hurt, it really upsets me, it is weird because i do not have the same attachment to humans, only animals, it can bring me to tears when i see an animal being hurt.
Tonight i am watching star trek III, the search for spock, something to take my mind off my troubles. what are you and the girls up to?
