My special place

My special place

Well yesterday certainly threw everything off track. But thanks to some very thoughtful and kind people I was able to get threw it and continue.

I cannot say a lot about what happened as I am sure you all understand but need this support in place.

Things WILL be ok, just a lot to work out.

Psych visit yesterday sorted out some of the things and more things will be happening early next week.

I am sorry if I put anyone through any despair, but unfortunately what happened yesterday morning had to be done.

Thank you all for your continued support.

Re: My special place

Hi @Snowie

My day has been ok, ticked some boxes at the group meeting and even talked to another patient.

Someone from work tracked me down, at first I said no to the visit but pdoc was here and they asked him. Nurse stayed very close but it was ok.

I feel like I’m on another planet with all the meds and it was like an out of body experience talking to someone from work but I’m glad I did it and I even ate some lunch.

How was your day? Did you see your pdoc? I hope you’re doing better...off to ECT again tomorrow 💙🧡💙

Re: My special place

You have managed to tick some boxes hun. Well done for going to the group meeting and for speaking to another patient. I struggle to talk to others also @Eve7

Saw my pdoc today, in here for at least another week, perhaps more.

Today has been a hard day, didn't get a lot of sleep last night which hasn't helped today.Back to ECT tomorrow and then two days off, yea!

Re: My special place

I’m sorry you didn’t sleep well last night as that always makes it a bit harder the next day. Maybe we should have camomile tonight instead of hot choc.

The patient I spoke to was really nice. I’d looked at her a couple of times then she said “yes, I’m who you think I am”. I really admire a person with a high profile coming into hospital near where they live and people know them. This mi stuff is a great equaliser.

Take care @Snowie we’re in this together.

💙🧡💙

Camomile tea sounds wonderful for tonight @Eve7 😁

I am glad who you spoke to was nice. You are right, MI is a great equalisier. It makes us realise that underneath we are not so different to others.

I went to an art group today. It was nice to express my thoughs and feelings through art for something different. It was also a nice distraction for an hour and 15 minutes. Took me away from my problems for awhile.

We are in this together @Eve7 Even though I don't wish this on anyone else, it is comforting knowing you are not alone through this journey.

Re: My special place

Art sounds good. I’ve only been to three “talking” groups so far and I find that really stressful so I might try something else next.

I’m trying really hard to do the right thing and get better or at least improve.

I’m sad you have to stay in longer than you thought you’d be there but when it comes together you’ll be glad you stayed.

@Snowie 💙🧡💙

Re: My special place

I find art a good distraction @Eve7 especially on days like this.

All we can do is try hun, that is all anyone can ask of us.

Enjoying that cup of tea now.

Re: My special place

I’m having camomile now.

I’ve been faking it for so long that it’s finally caught up with me. I couldn’t keep myself busy like I usually do because of covid and everything came to the surface again and down the hole I slid

Pleasant thoughts tonight @Snowie

💙🧡💙

Remember it’s a marathon and sometimes there’s hills, sometimes it’s straight, sometimes it goes by the ocean, sometimes you’re alone, sometimes there’s support all around but there’s always a finish line whether you run on the fast, flat road or whether you run on the hallowed turf of the MCG...we will do this even if we cry every day...we won’t give up xox @Snowie
